As many of you know, lyla recently held a contest where hobbyists nominate providers who they admire and who's posts have impacted them. (which was an incredibly successful campaign and made a great impact on more than just the winners) Lyla then tweeted asking for ideas on what the next one should be and I piped up with " Well how bout the opposite contest? I think a contest like this will serve to help undo a lot of the stigma & stereotypes of what clients are like. So much has been done&still is for the SW side of things but not much for the clients &u end up w/things like C36 as a result I think the reason 4voting should be tweeted out but the name remain anon & sent by DM or PM to lyla. Theme song can be 'Lets Hear It For The Boys' or 'Its raining Men' lol although thats not fair to female and non binary hobbyists but hey its a generalization of the vast majority on the forum Idk just ideas...." WHOA! Well the emoji wasnt THAT big but... ok lol this triggered some tweets from others which I wont post simply cuz well, its not right to without permission.. but basically folks agreed and elaborated on the side-benefits of a contest like this & offered their own insight. 2 providers also chimed in about how sad this situation is and how much they benefit spiritually/mentally/emotionally..whatever u want to call it. This twitter thread inspired me to post what you see below in black and pink. I think its time we do what we can to chip away at the long held stigma surrounding who people refer to as 'Johns' and I refer to as Gents. So I thought Id start a thread here and see if anyone here would like to discuss it. There seems to be skin findings with Covid 19 and conveniently, it seems to be present in some otherwise asymptomatic cases! Watch this video to know what to look for. If you see this, do not go forward with the appointment and tell the person to get tested. Except in the first case where it could just be the person has had it their whole life. An even better idea is to ask the person to watch the video. If you are an Ottawa resident or somewhere that offers testing to everyone, why not get tested a few days prior to seeing the lady to keep her and everyone she comes in contact with, safe. This in no way means that all asymptomatic Covid carriers have these findings, it doesn't. Its just that IF you see this, its an indication. Personally, I am only allowing covid-respecting sessions. However, if you are going to play the old fashioned way, its best to know as much as possible. Plus... as I said, the Dr. is super hot lol

Myself, Im from another city so when I came to Ottawa to work, I went with an agency and heard about lyla from them, though it was called cerb back then. I know Lyd already linked it for u but these days knowing basic tech is important to your independence so Ill give u a few tools real quick. Theres 2 ways to give someone your twitter link. - One is the way most have here, to copy/paste the URL. (URL simply means the exact web address.) So when you are signed in to twitter, go to your profile page. U can do this 2 ways. Click on either your avatar (that means your little profile pic. My avatar is to the top left of this msg. (A long haired girl with a star for a head). Or on the left you will find the word 'Profile'. Both will lead you to your profile page. - Take your mouse up to the URL (Web address) and right click on it You should see the option 'Copy' (if you dont, click on 'Select all', then again for copy) - Then all u gotta do is go to where you want to paste it, right click again and left click on paste and it will appear. You can do that with anything. you want to keep. If using a phone, u just press n hold your finger over it. Another far easier way is to just tell people what your handle is on there with the @ sign in front of it. So it seems like yours would be @SelenaDiamond2 Another great piece of advice I can give you is a saying "GIB" it stands for 'Google it bitch' lol Google is amazing and so is youtube. Just go on google and ask your question and google will tell u how to do stuff. If its something where a visual will help go to www.youtube.com and type in 'How to ....; and you'll find plenty of videos showing u step by step what to do and even some problems u may encounter and how to get out of it. This is true not only for computer stuff but anything. Wanna remove tarnish from jewelry? Its there, wanna fix a broken PS4 controller, its there, need a make up tutorial... good god its there! lol Google and youtube have saved me so many times! And Im not too bad with tech. I highly recommend taking some time to learn as much as possible as an independent SP. This is how we market ourselves right, so the more you can do yourself, the more you get yourself out there and the less u have to pay anyone. And we all know how hard it is to find good help when so many arent SP friendly and the ones that are know it and take advantage of us. I've had zero formal training with computers but when I started I built my own site and any time I need to change anything instead of texting and waiting to have it fixed and paying, i just go in and fix it. For photos, instead of paying someone to remove my face and tattoos and knowing someone will have the exact same pix but with my face and tats on there... im the only one who ever had it and I destroy the originals when Im done. Even when I get a photog, I insist on my own memory card. It saves me money and the piece of mind is invaluable. Then when the pandemic hit I needed to find a new revenue stream. I looked at options like Only Fans and found it a total rip off. So instead I did some research, chose and downloaded a video editing program and I now have my own porn site. Didnt cost me a single cent at a time that i would NOT have gambled money not knowing if itd be cost effective. I just picked stuff up along the way and its never too late to start. A friend of mine who is also an SP was very intimidated by tech when I met her. I taught her the copy/paste thing too. She didnt have a website but knew how important it was to business. Issue was, she had the same story Ive heard way too many times. She put something like 1000$ down and the person just dicked around and screwed her over. I encouraged her to just go on weebly, wix, squarespace or godaddy to build her own website. Basically if you can play a game on your phone, u can build a basic website. She said she never tried a phone game so I offered to build it for her at a far more reasonable price.And now she maintains her own site and I very rarely get so much as a question. Its amazing watching her blossom in independence and see the little things she creates online. It sounds dumb but u just have to believe in yourself. It seems SO intimidating at first. But u dont have to know how to fix a computer to use one. Its just that most find it daunting and also arent aware that there is free education out there. I really hope this helps you. Remember GIT when ever u are stuck or wondering something. These things will become second nature as u go along and youll learn more n more. I hope nothing here sounded condescending. Thank God there is no "one" correct answer. Otherwise I would fail epically! For me it is the whole package. It could be the hair I notice first. It might be the smile or the eyes. Maybe the boobs or the bum. Even the legs. I guess it has to do with "point of view". 🤔 If I am standing my eyes will usually catch her head first.
