  1. No, sorry to say, I haven't - blocked by the Atlantic bubble 😞 (not to imply I would necessarily see her - I've already got a long list of lyla ladies from the Atlantic area that I'll visit once this pandemic is under control). My post was simply poking a little fun @lookingforsome for succumbing to auto correct. I also question the 'skepticism' expressed wrt a comment about 'relaxed restrictions' on subsequent dates, especially if someone hasn't actually ever visited the provider. - this is an advertising technique which would have no influence on me. Only a repeat client could have an accurate assessment of this and, that being said, it would, at best, show a lack of discretion to post on this. For both client and provider, it's always a matter of YMMV. One can usually easily tell from a first date whether the requisite chemistry is present for new adventures. I've never booked anyone through vipfavours as the many reputable ladies from here on lyla keep my dance card full. TOFTT and report back with a reco if you had fun.
  2. I am nominating @clearbluesky15 for reaching out to share positivity and good humour across the country through lyla!
  3. I'm a little skeptical of your communication skills, you little spectacle you! lol Is this the impression you have after an initial visit? Perhaps a repeat client will chime in but remember it's always YMMV.......
  4. Sorry Notch, a bit of a diversion from the thread theme..... but I'm a bit infatuated with Julie Nolke and her mirror sketches...
  5. You're on the money there. lol! Other contributing influences include the fact that @waterrat was already in use as well as the influence of 'The Wind in the Willows': What the Water Rat said to the Mole: “Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing–absolutely nothing–half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
  6. Yeah I suppose that makes sense. In the mid 60s we had close family friends who lived on a short street next to the Rideau river between what's now Heron and Hog's Back off Prince of Wales and I recall the uproar when they had red dye show up in their well water which got there via the neighbour's septic system. They had been reluctant to switch over to city water, lol. I wonder now whether that event pushed me to my career consulting as a hydrogeologist.
  7. I would have guessed the club is on city services but maybe it was a septic tank... Goose, I took a picture for you the other week... but it wasn't of the excavation!
  8. I tend to agree with @newfy on the mask issue.... I don't think it's a deal breaker for me to have to wear a mask. Masks worn by both people in an enclosed space when they're clearly less than 2 m apart are likely a good idea. At my dentist's the staff are all wearing both masks and face shields. Most of the research on mask effectiveness hasn't addressed when in a close proximity situation like during a massage. I can only imagine that RMTs require mask wearing for all clients and for themselves. There's a lot about this virus that we still don't know. I don't imagine the direction you're facing makes a critical difference in the spread of droplets..... they're an aerosol. I was out walking in Westboro the other day, unmasked, and I could smell the smokers coming down the sidewalk towards me almost half a block away..... while greatly dispersed, the smoke is essentially aerosol particles: add to that situation proximity, still air, less dispersion then masks seem a wise move to enjoy what is essentially a luxury. Works for me. Their concerns over access to healthcare and possible eligibility to government support programs is a different concern. I've been to this spa during the covid situation (maybe last June? - don't remember) - I will look to find a way to be part of the solution to this problem rather than part of the solution.
  9. @LeeRichards good to see you back here.... you've been missed! My 77 yo sister pointed out to me that once cell phones arrived on the scene instead of asking a caller 'how are you?' we're more likely to ask 'where are you?' So how are you? and where have you been? lol
  10. I hope your wish comes true Allie. I'm certain many interesting perspectives would show up. I've given some contact suggestions to Lydia for a member here who created the online 'list' that evolved into cerb and then lyla. She appears, from her posts, to still be somewhat involved in the industry though she posts very infrequently and isn't striving to solicit 'new' clients. Lydia has reached out to her so I'm hopeful she'll be able to share her thoughts at some point.
  11. lol @beesh - I could see this having been a problem for @roamingguy. He used to identify himself on here as the "Boatless Fisherman" - I believe he stopped that as he had no net imcome.....
  12. Thanks to both Alexis Lux and @lydiahardwood for this interview. To address the question from @Sharpe I do see similarities in the responses from @SamGaines and Alexis but they're commenting on two unique and very different markets so it's quite difficult to compare. Alexis has worked in diverse roles as a SWer for a longer period than Sam and because of his smaller market he has to define and create his niche on more specific criteria. @beesh I'm not sure what it was that made you quite sad but will admit to enjoying the company of 'smart, loving, funny, happy women' - none of these being a deal breaker for me though the most important attribute is 'funny', or to be more accurate 'having a sense of humour'. To quote the always observant John Prine "you know that she still laughs with me, but she waits just a second too long". I'll choose to assume that funny and happy come naturally to Alexis. I could be wrong, I was once. :). Aside #1: Auto correct reared its unwelcome head twice in the interview: 'definitely' became 'defiantly' - they have very different meanings. Like my all time favourite when it changed 'Purolator' to 'Purple Toes' for me. Aside #2: here's the source of the Prine lyric - Robert Plant identified this as his favourite Prine song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ujOTP8oPpY
  13. I wish a happy St. Valentine's Day to all the engaging members of the Lyla community! Today I would like to nominate @MsManda who is a kind and thoughtful supporter of her colleagues here on Lyla. I also admire here clear, forthright and incisive comments. She replied in a thread I had posted on over a month ago and and I like her style!
  14. Happy Valentine's day to @SarahAlexxx ..... she just made my day from about 1400 km away by posting in the Booty Scoop thread! Thank you Sarah!
  15. My cousin has lost three canaries in the Virgin Islands.... she's no virgin at that.
  16. I'm going to add my voice to Phaedrus' nomination of @Jenesis with the same hope! I know she has visited Ottawa to do a media interview in support of SWers rights. On another occasion I had the honour of seeing her here after having had the pleasure of first meeting her at her hometown incall. She is a strong voice for SWers!
  17. I'm going to nominate @SamGaines as his interesting interview has generated a lot of interest and discussion here on lyla. Thank you Sam! He and I have very different business models - I don't purport to offer the service he does though I might hope to. Also my business model involves me paying my clients to see me. :) :)
  18. @Kilt Boy thanks for selecting my Thursday dinner selection!. Then I'll follow @ModCat's suggestion.... may have to add my own egg! Pizza is always a new exploration for me. I do recall my first ever pizza on Coney Island during the '64 World's Fair in NYC..... It was just plain cheese with olives but left an impression on me..... that and the pizza vendor was next to the big Ferris Wheel.... great memories!
  19. It appears you may be a victim of the Lee Valley Tools ad I received yesterday.... Do I need to warn you before I show up at your place with seasoned and spiced meat for grilling?
  20. I nominate the very lovely @Daysha Love. I've never met her (Ontario gent) but she is a straight shooter, thoughtful contributor here and does things that make lyla a better place. Specifically she has shared her photos in the 'Fun Threads' forum in the 'Keep on Tugging' and 'Best Bums' threads. Thank you Daysha! I would be remiss if I didn't thank @SarahAlexxx for doing the same thing and also congratulate her on being selected yesterday. Well deserved! One or two carefully selected photos from a lady's album add a lot to those threads and I truly enjoy lingering to admire them. For me, this makes lyla a better place :) Many good reasons to stay safe, Valentines..... especially since it would allow me to do a NS visit sooner!
  21. A couple of tweets posted by the woman who started the 'list' (Layla's List?) that evolved to become 'cerb' and then 'lyla"
  22. This radio segment was broadcast on CBC Ottawa on the anniversary of Canada's first identified Covid case (clearly it wasn't the 'first' nor the 'only' case) and the piece provides food for thought, questions and a sense of our uncertainties with general observations. https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-92-all-in-a-day/clip/15820729-dr-column-canada-marking-bleak-milestone-today My Risks: while being low, the consequences are high (underlying health issues) so glad to be able to completely isolate and operate on-line. As an adventurer and risk taker I'm being very cautious now. 'A ship in the harbour is safe, but that's not what ships are for' (ship = cock, harbour = condom..... yep, 3 kids no STI .... so far). Reactions: or how I respond to my risk tolerance for these Covid times. I've only seen a very few local ladies who have mainstream employment and can work from home. I've kept a minimum 20 day quarantine between any visits. One MA I see keeps a very small bubble but once her kids started back to school I'm down to offering friend based support by providing curbside pick ups for her (doesn't drive) and won't have an intimate visit until the situation changes. The one SP I've visited tells me I'm her only client and I choose to believe her. She does her mainstream job from home and has already had Covid last March (relatively mild and she thinks an infection from public transit before lockdown). A couple of weeks ago I visited a new-to-me MA and out of caution she didn't want to see me due to my underlying health issues so we arranged a masked, 3+ metre separated social chat and visit - I hope to repeat. Has me very eager to see her intimately when we get out of this situation - I bet that may not be this year. I'm continuing to spend my 'entertainment' budget supporting SW friendly organizations. I've taken a page from @roamingguy's approach to life and have pre-paid for a few visits and I may just pay for them again once we're able to safely schedule them. Haven't tried on-line services yet but will see what happens in the future. Responsibilities: I'm comfortable with how I'm owning my responsibilities but admit that they're mostly driven by personal concerns. There are multiple daily examples in the media of people acting with no sense of responsibility and unfortunately they add to the public danger to Covid and delay or derail our collective action to get this under control. Much of the science we're provided with amounts to 'we don't know....yet' but to quote a Great Danish mathematician (see what I was tempted to do there?) "Knowing what thou knowest not, is in a sense Omniscience". Thoughts, approaches?
