I remember backpage being bad but Leolist is setting a new bar...it seems any ads that actually interest me, like, 95% are bullshit.  I don’t even have to click on most of them to know their fake.  All those bull shit fake ads...what a waste of time!!  You know I have to believe if people weren’t actually falling for these simpleton scams then their would be no reason to pull the scan in the first place.  

When you get there, or they arrive, if it ain’t as advertised do your part and either leave or tell them to get the fuc? out.

With most classified services dropping personals and adult services, it's quite obvious the remaining websites would require a certain level of sorting out to be effective. Instead of wasting your time and getting ulcers from using LL, you should use the large bank of information from Lyla and other message boards to meet someone real.

If Lyla and other sites really did have a large bank of information/providers, why do people still end up on LL?

Honestly, it's not so complicated to filter through the fake ads. First, don't approach leolist with the objective of booking a date in in 30 minutes. Take your time and don't commit in the "heat of the moment" when your brain cell are less inclined to think logically. Ask yourself:

Do these pics look like they were screen captured from a porn movie? 

Is the price ridiculously too good to be true? 

Does she not provide a phone number for contact? 

Check out Moncton or Ottawa or any other city - do you see the same woman posting ads elsewhere at the same time? 

I don't even waste my time if the answer is "yes" to any of those. It also helps to avoid the young ones and those who can't write in complete sentences or without hieroglyphs and symbols. After that, I have no problems with fakes and scams on LL, although admittedly it take time to find those quality providers who prefer market places other than Lyla.

Aside from the very few wonderful ladies which I look forward to meet ( Just to name a few @MsManda, @shantiex6969x, @Barbie doll Hailey, @Katherine) 

I am new in the world of SPs and respectably admire the efforts they work so hard on keeping an excellent reputation. 

LL is not exactly the first place i would turn to knowing the incredible community here works together on filtering out the fake profiles as LL has so many of.

As we work hard for our income, these ladies do so as well. There are many sites out there but so far I have not experienced the collaborative efforts Lyla provides to keep the lovely SPs safe and well recommended. 

It may be nice to glance over LL but unless they have recommendations or show any efforts on building a good reputation (not necessarily on Lyla) .... Stay away!

Since I started in this lifestyle (July 2010) ninety nine percent of the ladies I've met have either been through Lyla (CERB) and more recently Twitter.  The (to put it nicely) disappointments have been dates (well one date only) booked through CL and one of the sites (international mostly U.S and Canada) that had a Toronto section. Booked a lady who turned out to be the second worst date I've had since partaking in this lifestyle (it takes a lot for me to consider a lady a bad date, she has to really be working at it BTW)

One more thing, sometimes depending on how a companion and you get along, she may tell you of a couple ladies you might want to book a date with. I know of three ladies (not on Lyla and I don't follow on Twitter) that I'm going to book with...well once this temporary hiatus is lifted (family issues)

Anyhow sticking to Lyla and Twitter (includes doing your homework) and I've had good dates.  My bad dates have been, thank goodness, few and far between

Honestly quickest easiest way to weed out the fakes (and unfortunately weeds out a few legit providers I admit) is filter the Leolist results by ads having a 902 area code phone #. Poof all the fakes are gone.

 

I know providers like Catherine-sweeter-than-Pi who uses a 506 number get weeded out, and those few providers who ONLY use email get weeded out, but ALL the fakes are gone and it's just worth it to me to get rid of all that noise to focus on providers who exist (minus the local scammers like Snow Bunny). 

 

If Leolist would just off a filter that said "ads with phone #" as a criteria I'd be happy.

Just wanna chime in here as a real, Verified provider with 50+ reviews here, who absolutely would never post my number on LL 😛

Not all of the ads missing a phone number are fake; some of us would just rather avoid the 'hey', or 'you avail now', prank callers, or just drama that comes with posting our phone numbers publically. I find that the extra step in having guests contact via email is an effective tool to help screen out those I'd rather not see, as does my contact form. 

I also know it likely screens out a few people who'd rather contact me more conveniently, but that is a small price for my sanity and piece of mind. 

 

I applaud the providers who can post their numbers online and handle what comes to their phones.. I tried when I was new, and quickly realized that it wasn't the ideal method for me lol I wouldn't say that makes me fake at all though, and a few extra minutes of research would help to verify that your provider is real, with or without a phone number online

    LL is the equivalent of shopping in a outlet store. Meaning you got to sort through a lot of crap to find what you want.

 People still go there in the hope of finding the deal of the century or the mythical "diamond in the rough". If it's there, it's likely accompanied by a fair amount of baggage.

  There still legit providers who simply want to advertise their availabilities, but those are drowned in the same ads people were complaining about on BP and CL. If the trend continues, specialised websites, message boards and private pages will remain the only sources of advertisement.

This JMO of course but when looking for someone to see it takes some effort.  If you're looking for a quick and easy way (translation using minimal effort) to see someone then don't be surprised if your results are not good

Finding a companion you'll have a good date with takes effort on your part. Read her website. See if just on reading it you think you two would "click" for a date. Also check while reading her website little details that can be red flags.  Her photos, how current are they.  Give two examples. Recently there was a lady I was thinking of seeing (and I saw her before back in 2010) I looked for her website and when I read it, it was virtually the same. Including the photos. It is 2018 and she was still using her photos from 2010, with no recent pics.  Another example, virtually the same.  A lady I had booked a date with back in 2010 (she advertised herself as a mature companion) but she had something come up and the date fell through (life happens). But I thought I'd contact her for a date now.  Before I sent an email though I checked her website, and she too was using the pics she had in 2010.  No recent pics. Photos JMO should be recent, and eight years is not recent.

If you think the photos on a lady's website are fake do things like a search on TinEye.  It can tell if the image(s) show up anywhere else on the Web. If it does it could be a case the lady stole another lady's photos.  Likewise if the writing on the website looks familiar, like it's a website you've seen before but belongs to some other lady do a plagiarism check.  There are a lot of plagiarism checkers on the Web and they're easy to use.  Just as an example, one time I was looking at a lady's website because I was thinking of booking a date.  When I read "her" website it looked like someone else's website. I checked and it was.  She copied, verbatim, another lady's website. Only differences, hair colour, pics, city and rates.  I let the other lady know that her site had been copied. As for this prize, no I didn't and won't ever book her

Now why the issue on fake photos and plagiarism.  Using fake (translation stolen) photos and plagiarism means the lady is a thief.  Aside from giving this lifestyle a bad name if they are prepared to steal (I emphasize here fake pics and plagiarism is the stealing of photos and someone else's words and thoughts) to promote themselves then who else would they steal from...you, a client?  I stay away from those ladies end of story

Finally and this takes a bit of a mental note.  Sometimes there is a lady I'd like to meet but it may be down the road (granted I do long range planning in booking my dates)  So I read her website.  One thing I note is her age.  Now one case I was going to book a lady who was 25 years old. But at the time she said she's back in school and her time limited so we couldn't schedule a date. This was around 2011-2012.  I looked up her website recently and besides having the same pictures, she's still 25 years old.  I get that some companions have their "companion age" versus their real age, but they still should age a year at a time, even if their companion age is younger than their real age. More red flags to "not aging" than adding a year to their age every year.

You quoted my post, but I think we are on different pages here.

My impression of what the original poster wanted was to avoid all those fake ads that don't lead to ANY local person at all, they are just ads that when you go through the motions redirect you to fake sites that solicit your credit card and try to scam you. To avoid those ads my trick works pretty well (with the caveats I noted).

 

Your post seems to be about finding someone who's a good potential person to have an encounter with. Totally different kettle of fish in my mind. My trick above is merely step 1 to take the list down from say 100 choices to 50 choices. Those 50 represent a mix of legit quality providers and some local scammers, some local picture thieves, some local quick buck artists, etc. Then your techniques of checking pictures, etc come into play and are totally in line with what I would recommend.

The answer is by hashtags.. #switter is a hashtag, as well as another platform similar to Twitter that some of us have been using as well.. 

I follow thousands of providers across the globe on twitter though 🙂

I only recently started checking out leolist (been away from being a hobbyist for a while) and I got lucky in 2 tries with a new chick on there who i am on my 3rd "date" with this week.

 

I didn't realize leolist was as bad as craigslist as i've been absent from that world  for a minute but yeah I can totally see that most of the spammers probably made their way over to LL during the transition.

I was having a bad day haha.  Truth be told, I've been at this a while.  I can tell a fake ad without even opening it 95% of the time, and 99.9 after opening it.  I google phone numbers, preform image searches and look for reviews. I've met a few of my favorite Regulars on Leolist (and  Back Page back in the day).  Some on Lyla as well.  I have fairly particular tastes so I think I could be my own problem.  But I still think that leolist seems to be getting worse all the time.  So yeah, It's been a while since I've had a regular and its not for lack of trying.  That's one of the reasons I started the post about "sugar daddy websites" asking for peoples experience with them.  But lets not start that conversation here!  Anyway, the search continues :)
