Where is this site going...

I have been. Member of CERB/LYLA for just over 9 years.  When I joined it was a very active site with lots of active participants, lots of ladies regularly posting and not just ADs.

After the government implemented the new laws around Prostitution this site changed many of the regularly active ladies disappeared and the discussion was dominated by a very small group of "power user" for lack of a better term.  

At that time the site implemented very stringent rules that further restricted communication on the site and participation dropped dramaticly.  It became a chat site about Escorting that did not allow any real discussion of sex... just think about that it's about the business of sex but that's a topic we can't mention.  Recommendation had to be cleaned up... free speech was an idea that died and guess what people left.

Now if you sign on here there are a small number of members and way more guests that frankly come to check out the escort schedules.

I left for a while and then came back ... I tried to post more and try to engage people I contributed on almost every thread each day including the numerous pic threads... and guess what it appears that one of the pictures I posted broke a rule... I don't know what picture or pictures it was but it apparently showed full nudity .... Yep on the chat site about the sex industry not only can't you talk openly about sex you also can show peoples sex organs... I am not talking about pictures of actual sex ... You can't show full nudity and we wonder why membership and activity is down and the usefulness of the site to many has disappeared. 

10 year in with an rating of "excellent" and an "Elite Member" status I have been advised that my posts are being "moderated indefinitely" what a farce.

By starting this thread and exercising free speech I am expecting that I will be warned, suspended or banned if I'm not for some reason I play on making the moderation as easy as possible for the overworked mods by spending my time on other site.

To those who I developed friendships and interacted with I wish you well and will miss the chats, jokes and community sharing.  But like so many others I have come to understand that the site is dying that it's usefulness is gone.

FWIW, I've seen various people complain about being stuck in moderation for a long time - often new users that probably shouldn't be any more. My gut feeling is that there's some process to let people out which isn't working. Hopefully the mods will see this and check it out. I agree that endless moderation for one slip-up seems rather harsh.

Couldn't agree with you more; thecsite is dying. Other than keeping in touch h with some old friends, I have very little use for it.

    A bit overdramatic are we?

 The few remaining bugs from last year refresh are far from crippling. The database of ladies, recommendations and inquiries threads is very useful for anyone seeking information, a good time or both. If you can't make good use of any of it, you're the one missing out.

I dont think so. There are a few "new" posts per week. On any given day about 10 girls and a few spas post schedules. The site has become outdated and irrelevant.

    If this website is "outdated and irrelevant", is there another that thrives?

   No matter what classifieds or review/recommendation website you look at, you'll always see the same ladies and businesses. And those with "fresh new ladies" are 90+% BS.

   If you think the grass is greener elsewhere, you know what to do.

I have tried elsewhere and I keep on coming back to this site for posting pics and discussing about activities that we all seem to enjoy doing.  Like it was mentioned before other sites aren't any better, much B/S and fakes.

Are you deliberately misunderstanding his point? He’s saying this site had its glory days before the Law was changed, and is not now as good as it was.  That opinion is probably not unique to him, and does not in any way imply that there is currently a better site somewhere else.

     His opinion was about this website only. More productive would be to point out flaws compared to other websites or make suggestions that could attract new members. But like you mentioned, the new law have affected most trade related websites. The fact other raised similar concerns doesn't make it unique to one message board. It's a far bigger issue that will get worst or better depending on how laws will change and be applied.

     It can be a discussion topic, but shouldn't be an excuse to bash the platform for the sake or doing so.

Devil's advocate .... if Lyla is not careful with content ... then there will be no Lyla. It has withstood the test of time while many others have fallen and I believe this is due in no small part to smart business practices given this current climate.

I wasn't going to reply because you seem rather emotional about this. 

You ask is there another that is better? Did I say there was? Did I say the grass was greener elsewhere? 

To be honest, I'm not sure how any of that is relevant. We aren't discussing other sites in this thread; we are discussing this one.

I'm entitled to my opinion as you are yours. I'm glad you still enjoy Lyla.

I too have been hear for almost 10 years and have seen a lot of changes over those years. There have been upswings and downswings in participation in that time, and the one thing that has remained consistent since I started here is people longing for the good ol' glory days of the site. 😉 Human nature. People are naturally averse to change. (Me more than most).

That said, I do understand your frustration Ice as the changes in the past year have been dramatic. The new moderators seem to still be finding their groove. As I understand it though, there are good reasons that they have to be so particular about images of overt genital nudity. It has to do with not wanting to be classified as a porn site which comes with a lot of additional rules and headaches. (Correct me if I am wrong on that, but I seem to remember it being explained that way at some point). That is also as I understand it, why it can be shown in groups, as long as they are private groups that are accessible only by invite. 

I would hope though that with a long term established member, there would be the courtesy of a warning first though before more dramatic measures were taken.

I think that at the end of the day, that it's worth sticking it out here though. It is important for us to have a site like this, even if there are limits on what can be shown or discussed.
