How to write ethically about sex work

Love this article by Mistress Matisse on appropriate terminology when talking about sex work - http://www.swop-seattle.org/2015/02/09/sex-work-style-guide-writing-accurately-ethically-about-sex-work/

Are there any terms that you find inappropriate in this industry? I know that hobbiest has mixed opinions, but would be interested to hear if there are others?

Slightly off-topic, but Mistress Matisse would be a brilliant person to get for the interview series you're doing. She's very active as an activist and advocate for sex work.

Thanks for the recommendation! I can't find her handle on here though 😞 Do you know if she's on here?

I'm pretty sure she isn't :) I can't imagine why she'd be on any Canadian boards, to be honest... so if that's an issue then so be it.

I believe that the word 'ethically' is very strong. She used the word 'accurately' (as well) which is a fair play. The issue of improper use of terminology is not necessarily reflective of someone's ethics.
