My dream job would be... Snorkeling Instructor! I haven't got my S.C.U.B.A. so it would have to just be snorkeling. But here's what's always attracted me to it. It would undoubtedly be someplace hot, near the ocean, which is just awesome in itself. But to actually be paid to guide tourists by boat to the best snorkeling spots and get to spend half my time underwater, taking in beauty everywhere I look, to me, would be sheer heaven.

I'd like to change my answer... ;)

Although this job is great, it doesn't allow for me to have the one thing I really want.

Fame and Notoriety!

I'm working on that with the authoring.

That would be the perfect job for me since you can write from anywhere!

Hehe, I'll be coming soon to a bookstore near you! ;)

Well for my personality, I enjoy being helpful to people who are in need. I would love to be able to help people in many different ways....perhpas Charity org, or councilor, operate an orphanage in 3rd world, animal rescue, non profit lawyer would be awesome.

I suppose anything that allows me to help the underdog, or help people see the beauty in themselves and around them.

In a way I do that with this job too:)

Lately I have been fantisizing about being an interior decorator and getting to do cool concept rooms and lounges for themed hotels like you would find in those artsy hotels in Denmark or in themed casino hotels in Las Vegas. So if any of you who dream of openning a B&B want themed rooms, gimme call. I would just love to come up with neat rooms, make them, look at them for a few minutes, take a photo, and then move on. That would be awesome.

To be a PERMANENT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE.

It was a total dream job for most of the couple of decades I did it this. But just like Roaming Guy commented on your post, it's not what it used to be. So I did what it seems no permanent Federal Government employee would ever do (never known anyone else to do this), I quit and followed my dreams. My co-workers were in a state of total "shock and awe".

People thought I was completely crazy but it worked out great. Now I work when I want to, how I want to. I imagine a lot of SPs also enjoy the freedom of working when they want to but I'm sure that took a lot of courage as well, which I can only admire.

It was a huge risk that took a lot of courage but the best decision I ever made was to follow my dreams regardless of the possible consequences. I'm very happy again!

Scholar or researcher. I'm good at finding information, and can remember most of what I read (even if I just scan over it). And I've always liked books more than people.

I want to be a lion tamer! I already have a hat, with big neon letters on it that light up and say 'Lion Tamer'!

In another life I would make a swell beret-wearing, cafe-dwelling revolutionary-type.

And of course before I die I'm going to make the Canadian stage swoon at my presence and my masterful command of Shakespearian English.

When I was little I wanted to be a teacher. I loved school growing up. Your friends were there and you got to learn. I would still like to teach as I love helping people. Any job helping youth would be great, such as a youth worker for example.

In the future I would like to find something that gives me more flexibility in my schedule. I would like to carry out the type of pros I get from my current life. Getting to travel, make your own hours and not have to answer to anyone. I am very blessed.

It is never to late to do what you want!

I would love it if everyone understood the importance of energy work and the power of universal sorce energy that is available to all people.

I would love if if people understood that physical problems are often the result of negative thoughts and wrong ideas that were planted in our minds before the age of three.

I would love it if my Reiki practice was in high demand and that as many animals came for healing as people.

I would love it if I were able to be with more people on thier journey of healing, mind, body and spirit.

Well, when I was a kid I wanted to be a naturalist. But when it came time to go to university I didn't think I had the math ability to do a science degree. So like many I pursued the BA option, then graduate school, and eventually a professional job. I do have my dream job, and no regrets about any choices. And my hobby (besides this one), is hiking and wildlife photography. I guess I was able to still do a little bit of that childhood dream! The photography, though, is something I've taken up very recently. Even old musketeers can pursue dreams!

Whatever you do, the key is to be happy. I watched my Dad work his ass off in jobs he hated. Then he died shortly after being able to finally retire and put his feet up. Follow your dreams is definitely the thing to do. If you don't succeed, that's o.k. Dreaming never has to stop! Just don't stay doing something you hate. It can be soul crushing.

Soul-crushing, indeed! The statistics on job happiness speak for themselves. Most notably that a shocking 87% of people who only stayed in a job (often government) for the pension kick the bucket before they cash their first pension cheque.

The only thing you should ever want is happiness. (And less materialism will allow you more freedom, but these days everyone mistakes happiness for a big tv or fast car.) It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, and there's a niche for everyone. True happiness comes from fulfillment, and fulfillment has nothing to do with materialism and everything to do with living each day fully, with joy, and in harmony with your true nature. And be aware that who we are may not be who we wanted to be. (I've run into this with friends a few times.)

When I was really little I thought it would be neat to be a nurse then I realized I didn't like the sight of blood. Still don't.

Then I thought I could get paid for being bossy, I loved making parades. Decorating bikes and getting my friends to go to their house and get some nice cloths (that through out the day would get dirty) then we would drive our bikes down the street, only after I had organized the whole event! Come on... I was like 10 I thought it was so cool to shock people when they least expected it.

One thing I do know is I love to cook and see the look on people's faces as they are enjoying some delicatable dish I have concocted and when they tell me how good it is and they smile or they don't talk because they're too busy eating. That is one of my passion's.

I do however have my dream job because I still make people smile and I love my life and everything in it. Perhaps when I decide that I would like to do something different I may open a restaurant but not likely because I probably wouldn't have the same food on the menu more than once.

I could also become a comedian because I love to make people laugh.

When I was a kid, every week it was something different with me. Among other things, I wanted to be a nun, a spy, an aircraft mechanic, a race car driver. I majored in chemistry because I liked chemistry -- and now I look back in horror at how close I came to working in a job I surely would have hated (Monsanto? Dow? Bayer? Big Pharma! I shudder to think!!!!)

I started young being an SP, but I have to say that I was quite underwelmed for the first ten years or so. I was an avid reader of Cosmo magazine, and so I thought all call girls were filthy rich but somewhat tragically misunderstood and lonely. However, when I first started, you pretty much had to work for an agency or massage parlour. Being independent was *ahem* a tough row to ho! ;) I certainly didn't find the business as exotic or glamorous as I thought it would be. And I hated being herded around by people making money off me. (Although, to be fair, a good agent is more precious than gold. Most that I knew simply weren't good.) I did do as much freelancing as possible -- which was the upscale version of streetwalking, only done in hotel lounges in areas where business travelers congregated. It was never enough to throw off the yoke of the agencies, though.

Around about my mid-20s, being an independent suddenly became much more do-able. And then this just took off for me. I cannot imagine being in any other line of work -- well, okay, I might enjoy being a librarian -- but really, this business has been so good to me, and continues to give me such a precious life, that I feel an intense gratitude every day of my life to have stumbled into it. Look in the dictionary under "lucky" -- my pic will be there!

I'd love to have my own club where I could perform with other musicians. Just make a space for people to come and chill to good people and great music.

I commented earlier in this thread and mentioned that I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur but when I was very young, I wanted to be a vet because I loved animals ( and sitll do!). Another one was a police officer. RCMP goes way back in my family so it kind of just rubs off on you.lol.

I don't even have to think about this one.

I already know my dream job would be a rock guitarist for a superband, preferably Pink Floyd. Even though this ONLY has 2.4 MILLION views on YouTube, some may appreciate why I selected Pink Floyd.
