That being said, that could be many things, like part of an internal baffle, or retaining clip for the grille to attach to the ductwork. Given the relative size of the object, and how many "fins" it covers, that would be a really tiny phone if it was one. Also would be impractical to record with a phone like that, as you'd have to start the recording and hide it before the session, and you risk running out of space. I agree it doesn’t look like anything, but to think you have to put a phone in a grill these days is crazy You can go on Amazon and get spy cameras in smoke detectors, electrical outlets, clocks, anything you can think of that is in a room, and it records to video files on your phone, all you’d have to do is turn it on from your phone before someone walks in the door 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I just had to chime, in, because I think Sunny, is a fantastic provider and would one thousand percent have no part of any sort of recording device in her space. Hmm i wondernif you could suggest to her to cover the vent something that allows airflow even if it is suspended a bit lower. I only suggest this if she is being negatively impacted by this contversy. She could also be the victim in this. DaveM2 225 Report post Posted June 2 If the room is dark enough you can probably make out a hidden camera using your phone's camera, point it at where you think the camera is and look for purple dots. That's assuming its using IR but I imagine most hidden cameras would. That'll give you a more concrete answer then trying to make out something in the vent which could be many things. GChrome 1348 Report post Posted June 2 I just had to follow-up with Sunny on this... She was kind enough to take a few more up-close pictures of the vent, which should clear things up. She was actually considering leaving because of these accusations, so hopefully this helps put the issue to rest. The grey metal plate behind the vent is certainly NOT a camera, it is likely the damper blade/linkage assembly that opens or closes the vent. The round disk is probably where a small arm or blade pivots. AGAIN, CERTAINLY a camera or sensor; it appears mechanical and part of the HVAC register. JR50 2 Report post Posted June 2 I have no skin in this game, but will agree with GChrome, if anyone has been round this stuff thats how it should look, its just an illusion there is something laying on the grate because dark opening/plate on the side, also, the only way you'd get a phone up there would be to take the grate off the bottom, you can clearly see there has been no screw drivers on these screws, To the person that posted this, as someone who is very new to this, if I would have thought there was a camera there, I would have stood on chair , bed etc and looked to know for sure. And that it made me uneasy. If I had been certain, I would have said as much. You're right GR50, you can clearly see the screws in close up photos in a lit room. Now go take a look from eight feet below in the dark. Perhaps I've gotten too cynical with this hobby and the people in it... Rubs 1387 Report post Posted July 4 So i ended up seeing sunny before she left. It wasnt a camera for sure. She was pretty angry ans was saying she was leaving early and quitting the industry. No idea if she did. There was a really sketchy situation happen during the visit 1 a receiving call from her agent then a call to a Canadian being asked to pick up a pkg then take it some where.
