With the economic downturn do the gents in Ottawa expect prices for services to begin a downward slide?

I had a conversation with a buddy in Montreal recently and he is seeing beautiful college girls doing part-time work for $100 an hour FS, BBBJ, etc.

Just noticed a yahoo video clip (and it's now posted in the "in the news" section, courtesy of Dumpy) regarding the supply of ladies increasing. Ladies who can't find work are exploring the escort lifestyle - The world famous "mustang ranch" has seen applications on the rise. I guess increased supply will ultimately leads to lower prices should the trend continue.

Ottawa always seems to be unaffected by these recessions and price fluctuations. House values always seem to stay about the same, salaries stay about the same...it's government town. I won't expect SP rates to lower, but of course I'll welcome it if they do. Maybe we should just get a regular bus going back and forth between Ottawa/Montreal...like the one they used to have from the Market to Hull at night.

I don't know about the ladies reducing their rates, but I know that I have definitely scaled back my time with them. Although I live in Ottawa I don't work for the government so job security is definitely something to worry about at nights. I estimate i've scaled back from $1,500 a month to about $500. That extra cash goes a long way towards building an emergency fund....

There are those that would argue that the $500 a month that I *do* spend could also go to that emergency fund, but hey, a guy's gotta have *some* fun!! <grin!>

I think there might be the possibility of a large supply of ladies but that wouldn't stop me from seeing my favorites, it just might let me see a wider variety.

My feeling is that, even if Ottawa as a whole does not suffer from the brunt of an economic downswing that other areas will endure, inevitably supply and demand will be affected. There will be jobs lost here, and there will be people fearful of spending money on frivolous expenditures. Recessions tend to have an exponential impact as well since the media tells us that it's coming, so everyone hordes their cash...self-fulfilling prophecy?

But there's no doubt in my mind that it will change the business where we'll likely have more girls and the rates will go down. The only question is to what degree.

I just hope that I can keep working to take advantage of it....

sure, the basic story of economics.... cost push / demand pull etc... (hey,I remembered that from college, woohoo!!) but those ladies who provide a premier service are not going to lower their rates. In a sense that is diminishing their self worth. They are providing a premier service...

However, I would definitely not be surprised to see new ladies on the scene come in with ridiculous low prices in difficult times, just to pay the rent... they may not be setting up shop permanently in the business, but it's certainly possible (if not in Ottawa) that in other major cities, you will get lower prices on the services...

I wouldn't hold my breath for the quality time like we're accustomed to at the moment... You want a quick fuck, you will get what you pay for...... you want to chat, play, laugh, have some intellectual conversation with a lady.... it will still cost you.

I guess the best answer to the question can come from long time hobbyiests. Did the deep recessions of early 80's and early 90's (when there was a big cut back to government) affect the prices of escorts?. We can always predict the future by looking at the past.

I reviewed some of the escorts in Montreal over the weekend. Wow and wow! Great looking girls, prices were definitely advertised at $150 all in but it was a bit hard to find an incall.

Also go to CL for Vegas. Last year $500 was the norm for an hour, now half hours can even be had for $75. Hotel rooms have also gone from $250 plus to 69.95. Economy is hurting.

and so is my hobbying.

Thanks to another member I have been pointed to this location in Montreal;

http://www.chablis.qc.ca/new/pages/anglais/home_st _jacques.html

There are at least 10 hotels like this in the Montreal area that rent by the 4 hour time slot for $60-80 plus 3 premium ladies at $160/hour that makes an outing to Montreal were you get 2 incredible top shelf ladies round out at under $400 inclusive!! As time get worse we could see that rise to three hours instead of 2 hours! the head does spin with possibilities, bring one lady in for a half hour alone, add another lady for an hour together and then keep the one that you like the best for an additional half hour joined by a third lady! Should round out at around $500 hmmmm. Did I mention the glass wall for the shower and brass poll in the room? Could be an interesting warm up or half time show! (maybe the ladies would like to see my poll work!!) :D Ottawa could use this kind of accommodations.

Montreal is as close to the action that you might see in Europe. Beautiful open women that put on a great show for pennies of what we see here. I like premium: bmw, rolex, and first class but I also like cheap nasty fun for the price to a night at the movies. I am not cheap or easy but if you are - we can be friends.

I don't think we will see rates drop in ottawa anytime soon. Through the good times and the bad, we will always need a Girlfriend once in a while.

So the Prime Minister says we are now in a recession, the price of gasoline is coming down, the prices of houses are coming down and the price of automobiles is coming down. You see where I am going with this don't you? Will the prices in our favorite "hobby" be coming down soon as well?

Just wondering:lol:

I merged this post into the other thread.... and I would not expect the prices to drop with the ladies unless they start to see a big slow down. Especially in Ottawa as the price to advertise in the SUN and the other paper are so expensive (and most of the ladies other expenses are not going to change much). You will probably see a increase in the number of ladies however and that may force prices to become more competitive.

.. yup... but it has a lot of truth to it.

Money changing hands makes for good economy (especially spending money locally and buying products made in the country). If everyone gets scared and starts to horde money that will only make the bottom fall out sooner and much harder - and no one really knows for sure if we will fall off the cliff when the US does... some of us like to believe that we don't have to follow what the US does (wishful thinking? - Maybe but does anyone really know for sure?).

I am not suggesting that everyone go on shopping spree's!! I am not stupid and I do have money put away (just in case) but don't change your lifestyle unless you are really concerned with your situation and if you have a really big nest egg then maybe some real estate or a new car would be a nice treat (you will probably get a very good deal) .... and you know the car is going to be worthless in 5 years but the real estate will always spring back in time.

How many of us wish we bought realestate the last time this happened? We all know someone who bought a cottage back then for 40 grand and sold it for 400 grand or a house for 80 grand and sold it for 300 or more just 10 years later... I know at least 20 people who came away very well off... but on the other hand I know a few people who lost everything back in the 80's too... so you need to do your homework. The last thing you want is your mortgage to come due during a recession and the bank saying that they no longer want to hold your mortgage but history says that interest rates will sky rocket so lock in long term is the advise I got... I locked in for 5 years just in case.

I have no idea what is going to happen... maybe some of our Ottawa members are financial forecasters and can share some thought?

Just last week I read in the papers that some politicians said there will not be a recession in Canada... So there!!! You must believe everything the politicians say and whatever is in the news.

Here's a quote from a brochure I got from a bank a long time ago (last recession):

"Economists have correctly predicted nine out of the last five recessions."
