Roast Pork w. Sauerkraut

The roast has been browned and is in the slow cooker cooking away.

I also tossed in a couple...well five brats.  They'll be done by noon...for lunch a brat on a bun

Never heard of that....what's inside those little pouch?

It's really tasty! The fillings vary but traditionally they are filled with minced meat (normally pork). You are meant to pick them up with the bunched end, bite into it and suck all the soupy filling out, then eat the rest of it. You can dip them in soured cream too.

Other versions are filled with mushroom or cheese. 🙂

Slow Cooker Day Again Today

Swedish Meatballs.

Nothing fancy or special here. A box of frozen Swedish meatballs, added a chopped Spanish onion and fresh  mushrooms put in the Crock Pot. Added a tin of consume (beef broth would work) and 1/2 cup white wine (alcohol cooks off by dinner time...5pm) Seasoned with Basil, Rosemary and black pepper. Near dinner time mix in small container of sour cream and serve over hot buttered noodles.

Just used a beef stroganoff recipe I saw, instead of using sliced steak I substituted frozen Swedish meatballs and used the Crock Pot mostly so the  the alcohol in the wine cooks off.

This was my lunch over the weekend haha. I went for a hike in the Caucasus mountains - on the border of Russia/Georgia. This is "hard liquor" and churchkhela AKA Georgian snickers. It's a string of nuts coated in grape pulp. Delicious! Has anyone tried it?

You always go to the most interesting and obscure places….you didn’t send Chris Evans a drunk tweet or anything after drinking that “hard liquor” did you? I’m still processing the marmite let alone Russian snickers.  Hope you’re enjoying your trip!

Spaghetti Sauce (oh and spaghetti tonight 😋)

Doing a fair bit of cooking lately or getting stuff easy to prepare while laid up recovering from knee surgery.

So far it's been chilli, chicken soup, today spaghetti sauce on top of which there's frozen wings, lasagna, and canaloni in my freezer.

But for tonight my supper will be spaghetti with meat sauce

For dinner I ordered injera with a mix of 6 different vegetarian spreads, very tasty 😋 (best I've had though admittedly I've only tried from 3 different restaurants).

Had I known at the time about this thread, Idve snapped a pic 😅 Next time 😉
