Barefax adding brothel in 2014

Recommended Posts

After a private dance with one of the girls yesterday, she told me that BF is expanding the second floor to add a legal brothel area to take advantage of the new sex-trade laws.

Girls would be separated into dancers and sex workers.

She didn't know exactly when it would happen, just that it would be this year, and would be a one-year trial run.

I for one would be interested, as long as they are competitive with prices and services. There's a lot of really good competition out there.

I wonder if that was Patrick Brazeau's big idea as a new manager?

Maybe, perhaps they can strike a deal with the Senate...lol Room Service

I believe they refer to it as 'Chamber Service' - and it's tax deductible

I didn't want to speak up too soon for spoiling the fun but I think the OP

might have been more appropriate if it was posted a few days earlier.

Seriously there are no new sex trade laws, yet. The old laws are technically

still in force. Considering the current government it's not likely the new law

will be favorable. If BF is contemplating opening a brothel it's likely just

wishful thinking at this point. Can anyone corroborate?

I heard tonight (and this is only rumor from a girl at the club) that Zaphod's will be converted to a brothel and the BF will remain as-is.

I still am skeptical at this point, as the government was only told to 'revisit the constitutionality of the laws', not rewrite them. But as the old saying goes, only time will tell.

In addition - I have a hard time seeing the city of Ottawa being ok with this considering they want to reduce the amount of bars in the market district. New business = new license = new application process...

This is not Las Vegas, at least yet. No new laws have passed. And if it happens it will be an opportunity for the government to collect new tax revenue.

I know that there are clubs looking at doing this in Toronto and one of the big owners of Vegas Brothels wants to open a Brothel up in Toronto depending on the laws... but the closest law change I've seen is going to a Nordik model which from my very limited information means its not illegal to sell sex ... just to buy it... (Puts all the fault on the client)

Wait until you hear an actual law that decriminalizes both the provider and the client and makes it 100% legal to work in the sex trade... then I think it might be possible that Brothels are opening up ... but I find it hard to believe again that one would open in the downtown Market... though BF does seem to have the room unlike other places like Barbs.

Yeah, wishful thinking, mostly.

if...HUUUUUUGE IF...any law ever passes that allows brothels, it would still be subject to municipal licensing. There is NOOOOO way the city of Ottawa will allow one on the market. They would likely have to be in industrial areas with a fairly large distance from residential housing, etc.

^^ this for sure. They can't just open up a new business that falls into a different licensing category and assume they are going to get it. The only city license available in most cities that can apply is a body rub license. Now maybe some cities are liberal about handing those out, but I doubt it.

The city of Vancouver has only one place with a bodyrub license, the location is an mp set up (offers FS, bj, hj, etc not like ontario, most mps outside of ON do all services), which is located above a strip club (or used to be, somehow i get the impression the biz of the club is down and closed.

Another bodyrub in the entire lower mainland is in Burnaby.

No mps are going in and asking for bodyrub licenses, it is like a huge red flag, look what we want to do here, operate one of those illegal bawdy houses lol.

still illegal until Dec 2014.

If they call it 'The Red Chamber' or 'The Upper House' we'll know who's behind it...

They'll only call it the red chamber when the girls are getting a visit from Aunt Flo

Instead of the reputation of a Member of the Upyours House being sullied by being seen in a strip club we have the otherwise wonderful strip club being tarnished by the presence of a former Senator!

p.s. Steve, buddy, keep up the good work with those senate appointments!

I'm sure they will spend more time there now that they won't be playing in the playoffs!

I was in a strip club in Mississauga on Wednesday night. The girls take you to the CR but do not remove their clothes. The first question they ask is "what kind of service do you want?" I think this would qualify as a brothel?

I see you've discovered Cafe Atlantis!

Its still somewhat of a strip club though. Some girls offer dances if you look hard enough.

I would expect shower facilities and clean towels etc for both the men and the escorts. Strip clubs have never been the cleanest environments even back in the day...Eve xx Retired StripTease

I see Café Atlantis is an equal opportunity employer... A quote from their own website: "One ugly girl, just to make the others look better."

No other business would get away with saying this.

"Nevada law requires that registered brothel prostitutes be tested weekly (by a cervical specimen) for gonorrhea and Chlamydia trachomatis, and monthly for HIV and syphilis;[19] furthermore, condoms are mandatory for all oral sex and sexual intercourse. Brothel owners may be held liable if customers become infected with HIV after a prostitute has tested positive for the virus"

I understand what you are all saying. I'm just not into all the piercings and tattoos. I do wonder who makes the most money on a Friday night when the place closes.

Hey dude, I was around back then too. There isn't much difference between girls back then and now. I think you're just suffering from old-man syndrome: everything was always better in the past.

I have been. Just seems like every avenue of entertainment was better.

The days and nights of seeing 8s, 9s and 10s at Fanny's, Barbarella's (the original one) and Valentino's. Women that you would only fantasize being with. ...

My standards have not lowered from 1990.

the quality of the exotic dancers have fallen across the board.

Because of this, the owners/managers could be very "picky" about who worked; by picky, I mean they could choose the girls they found most attractive. The clubs back then (some of them anyways) were packed full of girls that all looked the same; big fake boobs, super fit, tan, etc. Basically, they were mostly model quality and fit into a mold.

Okay guys.. Cause we all know the late 80's - early 90's were the golden age of beauty.. :icon_confused:

** Take note ladies: tan lines, rock in a sock boob jobs, big sprayed out crispy mullets, cocaine mustaches & the sultry sounds of - White Snake.. Are the standard we are no longer living up to...lol
