Hi all, the following is a call for participants for my dissertation research! 

WHO:

 Adults (18+) of ANY GENDER who have worked in any of the followings sectors of the sex industry (escorting, camming, pornography or bdsm) at least 5 times in the past year in TORONTO or OTTAWA

AND

who have a disability/impairment or chronic illness or condition. You do not have to identify as disabled or consider your condition a disability to be eligible.

e.g. physical (MS, ALS, spinal injuries, amputations, etc), sensory (blind, deaf etc), learning (dyslexia, ADD/ADHD etc), psychiatric (depression, anxiety, personality disorders etc), neurological (autism spectrum), or other impairments such as HIV or chronic illness/pain.

WHY:

Sex workers with disabilities, chronic illnesses and pain are so often ignored in studies of sexual labour, and sometimes, our illnesses are leveraged against us to support laws which criminalize sex work. It is important that relevant policy makers, politicians, health care professionals and so on, have accurate information about the experiences of those with disabilities who participate in sex work and the ways in which current legislation impacts our labour and our bodies.

Looks like a course syllabus, and makes me grateful I am done developing and evaluating them. Hope you're enjoying it!

The first half is stuff I'm reading for a paper I'm writing about the historical intersections of disability and prostitution and the latter half was my course readings for this week. And after this term, I'm done coursework forever. It'll be comps and then dissertation.

It certainly would be unreasonable for a client to ask a Lady to guarantee before meeting that she WILL provide a particular service. But lots of providers are in a position to (and indeed on their websites do) guarantee that they will NOT provide a particular service. In that event it doesn't seem unreasonable to inquire whether that is the case, IF there is legitimate room for uncertainty. If a client is looking for a particular type of experience and the Lady is definitely not interested, it's a waste of everyone's time not to have that discussion until after setting up an appointment and being together in person.

 

(The legality of such a question, I agree, is another matter.)

Do your research. Read her reviews, her website and her social media (if she participates). That'll give you a good idea of what she will or won't do. Also, I'm not sure I understand you correctly---are you saying you'd inquire about a particular service even if she already stated she didn't provide it on her website? That would be a waste of time.
