I was thrilled to see this thread!
I love to travel, and so was vaccinated against Hep A & B long ago. I expect these two to be such a non-issue now, I'm always surprised when I hear of a case (usually a contaminated water source in Mexico) or hear of people still not vaccinated.
When the HPV vaccine was first introduced, I was in the "too old" category (and DEFINITELY BEYOND the "free for Grade 5 girls" hahaha) and my female family doctor dismissed the idea immediately. When I entered sex work, I began visiting clinics like Planned Parenthood for regular STI screenings, and asked a doctor there, wondering if they might have more current info as it pertained to sexually active women in their late twenties. He prescribed it without hesitation, and I decided upon all three doses of vaccination. I have no private health insurance, I also paid almost 600$ out of pocket.
Here were my thoughts, which I preface with the note that my formal education is in Biochemistry:
- Vaccines work prophylactically: a small, inert amount of the virus is introduced, so that your immune system can mount a defense. Then, if and when it encounters this virus again, it will be prepared to contain any infection. Had I likely been exposed to these strains in the past? Yes, absolutely: most sexually active adults have been exposed to/carry but do not exhibit symptoms of most of the circulating strains of HPV - this is where the controversy of vaccinating older women, and men, came into play. But, what if I hadn't? What if that one strain means the difference between cervical cancer and a healthy cervical future? What if I'm to meet a client infected with that very strain next month? What if? What if?
- Continued evidence on the efficacy of the vaccine, including more strains, increasing the indicated groups, etc: these are all great signs in the medical community. With the recommendation up to age 45, it substantially changed the landscape of the demographic I thought I was in.
- In both my personal and professional lives, I enjoy uncovered oral. Given my education and training, combined with my screening procedures and sober judgement, I decided that this is within my own comfort level. While I appreciate that this is a heavily debated topic, I maintain that each provider should be free to set her own restrictions, based on her own comfort and her own understanding of risk management. This is absolutely not the thread to rant about whether oral encounters should be covered or not, but rather I felt that, based on my own preferences, the HPV vaccine was another step I could take to minimize risk in this regard.
- The more people in our community who are vaccinated, the better. As above with Hepatitis A & B, this can lead to general eradication of a virus. I wanted to be a part of that solution.
In the end, I decided that my peace of mind was worth the equivalent of 2-3 hours at my standard companionship rate. As a professional, responsible provider, any steps that I can take to minimize risk - to me, and to my clients - I should take.
Note - there may be an opportunity for some cost-savings - speak to your doctor about the value of the third shot. In many three-dose regimens, like Twinrix, the third injection only increases the efficacy from 99% to 100%. Yup, that's right - in some cases you just paid 150$+ for a big-ole 1%. The life-long efficacy of the HPV vaccines have not yet been established: they're just too new. But, if the third installment of the vaccine is really going to break you, speak to your doctor, and make the most informed decision you can :)
Vaccines are not a replacement for regular health care: please continue your regular regimen of Pap smears and family doctor visits, and pay attention to any abnormalities. It's your body - get to know it ;)

Welcome to Twitter RG!
I've recently become quite the addict, as recommended this spring by one of my wonderful companions who suggested that Twitter is an excellent way to keep in touch with people who may not check ads and boards regularly.
As I'm always traveling, I follow accounts like news outlets, highway hotlines, RCMP/police services, and tourism and local info for almost all the towns I visit. This way, I learn about cool events and activities, and also stay up-to-date with weather alerts, road closures, etc.
As a business tool, Twitter is appealing for communicating schedule updates and upcoming plans. Friends who may not have time to check out my ads or website regularly can stay in touch on a medium they're already using. Plus, I can post short notice schedule changes or availability, which is helpful for those "short-notice club" members, but also to fill my schedule in case of last-minute cancellations.
Recently, I'm really enjoying engaging more by sharing snippets of my personality on Twitter. You can really gauge compatibility with a companion by gaining more insight into their daily life, through a series of short musings.
And, omg! Twitter lets me post the naughtiest candids! :D
Finally, as someone who also regularly fails at brevity, Twitter's 140 character limit is helping me learn to be more succinct. Won't all my English professors, ever, be so proud... ;)

Hey there!
As a traveling gal, I've wondered myself what might be up there to find. Unfortunately, the answer I keep coming up with is water.
Some gals travel north to Dauphin, and I've had gents from Flin Flon come visit me in Prince Albert, which they've expressed is easier to get to. It's hard for a lady to rationalize the extensive travel without serious interest and/or pre-bookings, and many gents in these areas work unpredictable schedules and hesitate to commit to booking a date.
Sorry for the icky news - hopefully some gents can recommend a local or two in the area?

I had recently posed the same question, on another board, surprised by the number of requests I received when travelling to a new area (not Wpg):
I often see warning posts about SPs who advertise or offer bbfs and bbgr. I also appreciate these warnings to the community, as my personal safety is top-of-mind to me.
As SPs, we also have our own "blacklists" for undesirable dates, and mine includes gents who request uncovered penetrative services.
My question is this: how does a typical conversation go with your potential provider or client for you to ascertain that they deserve a special seat on your no-fly list, and/or sharing with the community to warn others?
Here's an example for me:
DUDE: Hey u available?
ME: Hi there! Next tonight in city at time or time.
DUDE: Ok, this time works for me.
ME: Great, how long are you looking to spend together?
DUDE: An hour.
ME: Sure. Have you had a chance to learn more about me on my website?
DUDE: Yup. Is bbfs available?
ME: That request gets you on my blacklist. All the very best to you.
And the conversation ends.
I'm really not concerned about whether he's "asking for safety reasons", or any other further texts that follow. I'm done, and so are you.
Variations that I find concerning include:
"I hate condoms", anything that involves the word cream or creampie, questions about whether I like the feeling of a "man cuming deep inside me", and allusions to having surplus amounts of cash or "knowing how this industry works".
What are red-flag phrases for you?
Do you allow the other party a chance to explain their questionable response or flag them and move on?

Something to remember, even if a lady has MSOG listed there is always a YMMV factor. If as a client the first time around you just pounded away on her like a jackhammer (some ladies do not enjoy this, in fact a lot hate it) then she may be reluctant to let you have a second round of hammering away just to squeeze off another one.
Thanks for noting this! This might be a case of where those little white lies come in: "No, I'm afraid I can't extend your appointment tonight..."
As a client, if a gal hesitated to see you a second time because of the above, would you rather know that and be allowed a chance to try different sexual techniques, or prefer to assume she's just "booked up"?

Finally, don't aske me if I'm "open minded". What the hell does that mean? In my experience, most of the time it means, do you do anal, but hey, not always. I have been surprised at what "open minded" means to people.
