  1. As some of you already know I have worked in the IT/AV fields for many years.

In the process I have collected a lot of items. As part of my spring cleaning, I am looking to lighten the load here at my home office. So before I begin posting items on CL and other online classified, I thought I would give my fellow cerbies a chance to get stuff they may need.

Here is a very brief list of what I have in stock that I wouldn't mind parting with. If you do not see it on the list don't be afraid to ask me if I have it... Chances are good that I will.

    Cables

I have sizable collection of cables of all kinds and lenghts

    - Networking, av, coax, usb, telephone, speaker-wire etc.

    - Power Cord

    - AC adapters

I also have spools of the stuff and can make customer length cables for networking, Coax/RG6, telephone...

    Connectors and Adapters

    - PS/2, USB, DB25, DB9, AT, Serial, etc.

    Computer Components

    - Modems (Internal & External)

    - Video Cards (older ones 2+ years old)

    - NICs

    - SCSI

    - USB

    Networking

    - ADSL modems

    - Network Cards

    - Hubs and Switches (including a few older Cisco)

    - Meraki (MX60 & MR16)

    - SonicWall (several including a CDP 110 & TZ 170w

    Accessories

    - Keyboards (some brand new)

    - Mice (some brand new)

    - KVM switches

    Memory

I have a variety of SIMMs, DIMMs and soDIMMs

    Storage

I have HDD of various kinds and sizes. The smallest one I have is 40Mb and the largest is about 500Gb.

Remote Controlled AV input switcher (RCA/S-Video devices)

  2. Not exactly a Tim Hortons, however just over 20 years ago I did have sex in a bathroom of a Dunkin Donuts. And the best part of it... It wasn't even my idea. I excused myself to go to the bathroom and she followed me in the men's bathroom and the rest let's just say is history.

  3. I took the time to sign with my real name. As some others have said early on, no one will take a petition seriously if it is filled primarily with aliases.

Although I choose to keep this part of my life a secret from those who are part of my civilian life, I believe that it is important to provide verifiable names to illustrate that real people are have concerns for the health and safety for those working and participating in this chosen lifestyle.

I have long advocated for legalizing the sex industry, in all of it forms... I can remember having this discussion at least 15 years ago with some friends at a gathering. Most of them were in agreement with the opinions I expressed.

That being said, tomorrow will be my 1 month anniversary that I am active on this board, which also happens to be my first personal introduction to this lifestyle.

What is the point of my diatribe? It means, that there are a lot of people who share out opinion, without ever partaking.

Simply two cents! (Sorry RG for the paraphrase/steal)

  4. As Savannah said, you should never apologize for doing what is obviously best for you. As for being a master procrastinator, I can sympathize as right now I really should be doing something else. And it was not a waste of time, I learned a new word, procrasturbator.

Good Luck with both writing and defending your thesis

  5. Check out TekSavvy. You can choose either Cable or DSL service.

I will second TekSavvy... Smaller company, good support and they are constantly fighting for maintaining net neturality and keeping the big guys (who they rent some of their infrastructure from) in check.

They may never be first movers with technology but seems to find the right mix.

  6. Hi Carrie

As already stated you may have a recovery drive, check to see if you have a D drive. If you do, do a help search and I'm sure it'll direct you on how to proceed (probably a command in the control panel). It should reformat and reinstall the C for you.

I would also guess you can download the software from Microsoft as long as you have the holographic decal on the bottom of the laptop to certify the OS ownership.

Look to see if you can create restore or recovery disks. These replace the original Windows 7 disks.

PM me if you have any questions, as I do this kind of stuff for a living.

  7. Great question... I too am not immune to the munchies, therefore a snack would be much appreciated.

However I am having a hard time between choosing one choice in particular. Ideally it should be finger food, something we could feed each other while lying down in bed cuddled together.

So grapes, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries (especially the chocolate covered kind ;)) are all good options and they have the advantage of providing a bit of fluid replacement.

However nicely aged cheese, or little appetizers on melba could work pretty well but obviously involve more work when combined with a shared glass of wine.

Nice chocolates are also fun, and provide the added advantage of a "sugar" rush.

Just my though on the matter.

  8. Well I'm quite the hockey fan and a deeply proud Canadian. I'll be up around 4:00 am Ab time to watch the game tomorrow with a pot of coffee on and a bowl of Cheerios. Bars have special permission to open up early and serve alcohol. Many will go.

Since it is a little early for all of Canada my question is - Will you be up watching the game? Any special plans?

    LET'S GO CANADA!

Now that is what I call dedication!

Im not much for sports, but Olympics are different - so YES ill be watching Baileys and coffee in hand :)

That is what I call watching a game in style!

And what a game it was to watch! :)
