    Thanks to everyone for the posts & private messages to help me curate this list. We're just over a week in and have close to 100 names on the list - including 36 verified as real.

     

    Any info on the unknowns would be most appreciated. There are several SP's that I know I can put on the list, but I'm going to wait until I see them back in town (or have some inkling that they'll be back this summer).

     

    EDIT: Additionally, if there is anything else that people would like to see, let me know. I was toying around with linking to ads / reviews. Thoughts?

    In the interest of getting rid of some of the problems that can arise when looking to book with an SP, I'm putting together a list.

     

    The list is not meant to be a review in any way, simply an indication whether the SP in question is real or not. Reviews for SPs in our area can be seen here. Please consider adding a review for any SP you've had a great experience with - this is a huge help to the rest of the community as well.

     

    I'll be updating this regularly, but I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has anything they'd like to add - please feel free to either DM or reply to this post with any info.

    I had a thought about trying to compile some sort of list for our region. While certainly trying to identify the trickery and bait & switch scams that are out there, maybe we could also identify the real providers for Kingston and the region.

     

    I know that when I first came across this board, I didn't join right away, choosing to simply lurk to try to pick up whatever info I could. Sadly (as I'm sure the vast majority of us are aware), not everything in this hobby is as it seems. With some experience under my belt - pardon the pun - maybe pooling our resources could limit some of the surprises that are out there for rookies and veterans alike.

     

    I'm willing to start the list using my own personal experiences as a reference, but I'd like to get input about as many of the providers as possible. Keep in mind, I'm not considering reviewing everybody, but just noting if they are in fact who they say the are, how accurate pics are, local vs traveler, etc. I'd also be willing to try to maintain it.

     

    Is this worth doing, in your opinion? I'd be appreciative of any feedback you might provide.
