Thank you for your input James. You did the right thing by offering to pay for her inconvenience / time / cancellation. I think the problem was the man I was referring to did not even offer to pay and was dishonest. He later contacted me, apologized and admitted he was in the wrong but still did not offer to pay - I do not think he is completely comfortable in this hobby and is not ready to fully participate, I just wish I wasn't his practice piece as I am very low volume by choice (2-3 clients... a WEEK) - so when that happens it does miff me.

I felt the same way in February.. I didn't really know where to start. I started commenting and responding to topics that interested me, or if I had a question, I would search the forum on the search function to see if it has been brought up and I would contribute to it as well.

I am not on the SP approved forum yet as they have specific guidelines that I have not yet met (I don't know any other SP's here, EC isn't for me, and not quite at the post limit yet... soon!) so please forgive me if this isn't really in the right area but it's the only area I can post...for now. However, ladies, in your experience, besides excluding the men who use texting apps how can you figure out the men who waste your time or are just address collectors? Or is it bound to happen in this industry? I want to feel like I did my part, I communicated with a potential client via text and call, it was not a texting app. The gentleman was 5"5 - I provided my photos, I am a curvy short girl at 5"3 I provide realistic photos. Not a problem. We agreed to meet at my incall location - everything was fine. I opened the door and he had the weirdest eye contact, he wouldn't even look me in the eye, he was shorter than 5"5 as well (more like my height), said I wasn't his type and ran off without offering cancellation fee. I am a very even tempered person, I just let him leave without making a scene (not my style) but asked him what the issue was via text. He said everything was accurate except for my height, that I looked taller than 5"3 and I was extorting him. Uh, my driver's license and recent health check says I am 5"3. That is beyond the point. Is this an example of someone who just collected my buzz code, apartment number and address? How concerned should I be? Has this happened to anyone else? I have been escorting since February and this has only happened one other time. But this time it was very strange! He ran off like a rabbit hopping down the hallway.

I am still new-ish because of my low-volume in Ottawa, I am still learning. I noticed some men find it offensive when I ask them for a general physical description of themselves. It isn't because I am not willing to take someone thin or big, I just like to have some sort of idea who is coming to see me. Is that wrong? I would like to hear/read some feedback from both SP's and also the gentlemen.

 

On a funnier side of things, I literally had a client who texted me a month ago with a different age (29) and totally different ethnicity. He forgot he messaged me previous and just messaged me yesterday with a different ethnicity (again) and age (35) - maybe the number got recycled but it wasn't a texting app and I thought there was a time buffer for numbers to get recycled for regular numbers. I have been harassed to do verification photos by men - and guess what, it made NO difference in bookings. That is time I will NOT get back. And they still want more and more photos...

 

I wish clients would rather do their research via reviews and recommendations... also verification photos can be easily faked or traded.

When it feels like it is too much, it is too much. It reminds me of a gentleman that started contacting me last week, he was a self proclaimed 'newbie' in the hobbying field but he kept texting and texting - I finally asked him in a polite but firm way if he had any intention of booking. Lovely.... haha, I've taken a break to focus on my end of term studies. Seems like I will be jumping into a new ball game (no pun intended).... when I start advertising in two weeks.

I started as independent and I still am. I have not invested too much on my start up costs as I made an affordable website from wix. I cannot stress how much better investing a small monetary value in comparison to the TIME I invested in finding a SD. I use to spend some money on advertising on BP and CL. I am making out way better financially in comparison to when I was on SA doing sugaring. I could make more as a SP - but because of my graduate education I am particular who I see and it limits the potential clients (low-volume). A little bit of money invested (possibly $400), versus the countless time wasting and awkward coffee dates where the man was never a genuine SD and just wanted to be seen in public with an attractive blonde university student and fishing how much he could get for as little as possible was more 'costly' to me in comparison to the money I have invested as a SP. Plus the gentlemen (in my experience, and for the most part) - have been nicer being a SP versus a SB.

Maybe other ladies are different but it sounds like her and I have the same thought process in that respect. It is sweet of you though to think about it and ask for feedback, shows that you want to make sure you handle the situation appropriately. Good for you!
