Supplements - Health Canada Warning; Voluntary Recall

Health Canada is warning the public about some non-approved sex supplements that have been distributed to Saskatoon.

 

The products which have been removed from the shelves go by several names, including

X-Rock, Kaboom, and One for Her

.

 

"These products may pose serious cardiovascular risks to the health of Canadians," Health Canada said in a news release.

 

The federal agency says it tested the products and found undeclared prescription drugs, including sildenafil and tadalafil and an undeclared substance, hydroxythiohomosildenafil, which is similar to sildenafil.

 

Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra and other prescription products used to treat erectile dysfunction.

 

"Male supplements"

 

The products were distributed by a company known as It Erotics to a Saskatoon Source Adult store, as well as four businesses in B.C., Health Canada says. X-Rock ads describe the product as a "male supplement."

 

Other stores may also have sold the products, the federal regulator says.

 

"Health Canada is monitoring the voluntary recall by It Erotics and has requested that they stop selling unauthorized health products," the release said.

 

No one has reported problems, but people with a history of health disease or strokes could be at risk and are being warned not to use the products.
