I agree with Alexa. I use those sites for personal travel and they work. Please note all prices are in US$ (but at 1.10 to the dollar, who cares). Another good website to check recent wins is http://www.betterbidding.com.

 

Ottawa gave from 45$ for 2 star (extended stay, Holiday Inn Chaudiere) to around 80$ for the Westin and the Marriott. Add between 15$ to 20$US for taxes and priceline fee. Still, a very good deal.

Yeah.. not to hijack the thread off of credit cards, but the Priceline "name your price" option is magic, and really easy to use. I would assume during busy season like Winterlude etc, maybe a little less so because there are less empty rooms. I used it last night for first time and in less than a couple of minutes got a room at Novotel for $65 plus fees. Could have probably been cheaper. I just gave them a CC at the desk for "security" but essentially Priceline had paid the room and taxes already.
