To here the leaders of our community, our mayor and our politicians talk you would think that there was a pimp on every corner and we as SPs where all crazy on drugs and in need of saveing. There are problems in the sex industry granted but the vast majority of sew workers out there arn't on drugs, pay their taxes, look after there familys, get educations and live what are deemed normal lives. The problem is that most folks don't know this. I don't know how to speak this message publicly with out putting my self at risk. If I write to my MP I have to sign my name to the letter for it to have any bearing. If I stand up at a town hall meeting and speak my mind I announce my self to my community. If I write for the paper again my words have no weight with out a name. How do we as sex workers and people who seek the services of sex worker find our voice. Through groups like POWER, through personal risk and by not being ashamed of this age old work we do. By educating. I've come out twice now first as queer and a second time as transexual, this has cost me the relationship with my parents a marriage and a home. But I've been rewarded ten fold with a better life. I'm going to sign my letters I'm going to call the CBC I will stand up and be counted I will not go quietly back to the closet

Last Saturday, I spent the night with a new 50yr old friend who said the next day... " I haven't felt this safe and appreciated by a man ever"... To me that was very sexy to hear and also sad, as she's been the victim of abuse in the past. I'm happy to say we are having another date, tomorrow night.

Good morning, I wanted to take a moment and say a BIG thank you to the wonderful gentlemen and couples in St. John's. I had a wonderful visit and the sun shone too for almost my whole visit. It was great to be back to such a lovely place. It was great to see old friends and make a few new acquaintances as well. I also wanted to say that after seeing only part of the damage that Igor caused (as I did not venture too far out of the city) it is bad. I have made a donation to the Hurricane relief via Salvation army and I am encouraging others to do so as well. We all help other countries, but this help is needed in our own back yard. For those interested http://www.salvationarmy.ca/2010/09/21/hurricane-igor-hits-newfoundland/ I am looking forward to my next trip and to more adventures in Newfoundland.

that is not true. the living off the avails law clearly states that any third party (pimp, agent, other lady or driver etc..) not the lady doing the prostituting. that is in part true. it is to make a safer working environment but more than that it is because the current law takes basic chartered rights away from those who work in this profession. the courts are recognizing that not all these ladies are drug addicts, controlled by pimps or forced into this business. many ladies choose to work in this business (especially the 'escorts' who you see here on cerb joining the conversations). not true again. communicating is only in a public place (street, hotel lobby, casino, etc...). if the lady communicates in private she is not charged for this... and I explained living off avails above. third most single ladies working from a low traffic in call location that is not a commercial unit and is not accepting walk in appointments is really not on the radar. it would take public complaints and a over ambitious police force to see this as harmful to the public and waste resources on targeting such places so these places are usually ignored.. it's the high traffic commercial places (massage spa, brothels and strip clubs like the famous fantasias that was closed in markham a few years back) ... those are the targets for law enforcement. that and streetwalkers and pimps... but the current laws give pimps many ways out and really only target the ladies.

Hello Everyone, Just getting caught up on things here on cerb after being out West for awhile. Lots of interesting discussion, as always. The news from Tess, however, really caught my attention and apparently those of many many others, with well over a thousand having viewed her announcement about enrolling in rehab. A courageous and bold move, not unlike the persona she has built here on cerb. No sooner had I viewed her threads when, just like that, I received a request from her wanting me to visit. I was flabbergasted and flattered -- of course, I said, "Yes." I just returned from visiting "Tess" where she is undergoing rehab. She is very aware, and grateful, that the cerb community has her back, and asked that I post an update about her as I see fit. Tess is safe, but she is struggling. She is tired. Since enrolling, everyday has presented her a new challenge. She has had not good and really not good days. I reminded her that it is early days still, that this awful addiction has an 8-year head start on her. However, Tess spoke to me in a manner so that there can be no mistaking; she is very determined to beat this thing, to learn as many of the coping and other life skills she will need in order to deal with her demons once her time in formalized rehab ends just over two weeks time. Many of us have read about her courage. This afternoon, I was given the privilege of seeing it, up close, and it is no act, our Tess is for real. So, let's all let her know (again) we're still here, and that we've still got her back.

A quick copy and paste from CTV news web site from last night... "The government argued removing the prohibitions without replacing them with new laws would "pose a danger to the public." The decision is subjected to a 30-day stay and the federal government can seek an extension of that period. The federal government has previously argued that prostitution is inherently dangerous, no matter where it is carried out. It has also argued that striking down the laws would make Canada a sex tourism destination. Rona Ambrose, the minister of state for the status of women, told reporters Tuesday the government is "concerned with the decision and we are seriously considering appealing it at this time." Deputy NDP Leader Libby Davies said Tuesday's ruling "breaks down the myth that these laws were actually protecting sex workers and local communities, because not only were they not protecting sex workers, they were actually harmful." Davies said she has often heard from her constituents in Vancouver's downtown eastside who say the provisions prevented them from reporting violence or exploitation. "We need to distinguish between what is consenting between two adults and what is exploitative, coercive and violent and focus the law-enforcement on those aspects," Davies said.' I believe in spending money to make money.I like to change things as i get bored with my look,,,going from extensions to blond hair to dark hair and then back to blond hehe my monthly expenses for this business goes like this hair (every 2 months so i rounded it off ) 150.00 pedicure 50.00 waxing 30.00 makeup 40.00 candles 40.00 ec ad 170.00 condoms hotels 200.00 spa stuff(my secret)300.00( that is a figure rounded out to a monthly payment) i find as i get older i need to invest a bit more in things i didnt invest in 4 yrs ago but on the upside i enjoy getting those little things done even though they are pricey now these monthly expenditures do not include pictures from a proffessional photographer or my rent and hot water bill for towels that i launder but i would be paying rent regardless though not as high as i do now. so long story short i spend quite a bit:) but i save too so it is well balanced and budgeted like any business xoxoalex

You know what Amanda! you are right, we don't speak the same language. By the way,I'm not your sweety, thanks:rolleyes: Amelia had asked you earlier to "stop hijacking threads in order to berate clients" I will quote you again, and you state "The ladies in the industry are not interested in having sexual fun" (it is right below quote 2). All I know, is that the ladies that I spend time with, are very interested in sexual fun. Could you stop making comments that generalize other people, and move on to the topic at hand which was,:confused: oh ya, Breasts. Now in your opening thread you already stated (quote 1) the below quote.....so can we move on! Im so happy about this thread! 1) In my female body! Breasts are a wonderful source of pleasure, but only if you care to find out how i would like you to touch mine. If you grab it hurts, please dont! If you jump into suking my nipple it hurts like hell dont do that either. Just ask the lady, how would you like me to eroticise your body? We usually want to have a good time with you. At least i do! Been an attentive caring lover can lead us to have multiple orgasms with you! Whereas been rough with our delicate parts leads us to think of you as repulsive and annoying. Thank you for this thread awesome idea! 2)Angela i respect your constructive criticism thus thank you for taking the time to teach me. Although i dont understand why is it wrong to say. I dislike mechanic sex under the cathegory of 'service', i wish someone would explain it. I hear clients tell me very often ''the ladies in the industry are not interested in having sexual fun''. But if if i have a chance i would why not? I think sex it is luxury and luxuries should be enjoyed! But for sure when i notice that a gentleman does not have my best erotic interest in mind i just make sure to give him the service for i understand that he is not in love with me thus he does not have the obligation to please me. And like you said I am getting paid! But i wish erotic sensual generosity was also in their agenda, in Brazil we love to party and have fun!

I'm thinking that Chevy has given an explanation and has apologised so we should now give him a chance to redeem himself. Isn't that what cerb is about?? Let's not get into a feeding frenzy. Yours in moderation
