  1. The cashier at the local supermarket rung in my grocery bill today with an automatic 5% senior's discount! The first time that little bonus happened to me, I was still in my 40's, and didn't realize it until I checked my cash-register tape afterwards. I'm still not officially a senior, but I'll (unwittingly) impersonate one for money!

(signed) they don't call me "wrinkled" for nothing ...

    Lol, nice little bonus!

    Additional Comments:

When I graduated from University I went on a trip to England. I remember the day I left my dad stuck some US currency in my shaving kit to be "just in case money".

All the time I was travelling I never used the stash (I had seen him stick about $40 there) though I was tempted many times. It was to be my emergency reserve.

When I finally returned home and unpacked everything including the "stash" it turned out to be over $500 dollars (a tidy sum back then!). I instantly remembered all the little treats an luxuries I dad forgone thinking the stash was only $40, but was also highly touched that my Dad had been so generous. It was also a good lesson in thinking conservatively about your resources.

It is very important to save it while you can. You never know what could happen, it always best to perpared!

Your Dad certainley took the right approach on teaching you how not to buy everything you think you want. More or less get what you need!

  2. Very insightful!

    Additional Comments:

There are many SW's in Saint John. As a resident of the uptown area near Waterloo st., I see SW's at all times of the afternoon and night. Almost all have an addiction to crack or some other drug. With only (as far as I can tell) two established independent SP's in the city who sell their body and services by choice, not by need, I hope this ruling engages some further discussion on how to help these women get off the streets. I know there is a women's shelter in the area, but there isn't much out there. Poverty is a way of life for many in the port city.

You always see the Codiac RCMP arresting johns in Moncton all the time, yet there is never news from arrests of the pimps and drug dealers.

That certainley is a major problem in SJ. It would be very nice, if it could help them with their addiction!

  3. I tried to get a hotle in the downtown area, however they where all booked for the days I needed. I found the closes hotel that I could! It is a nice one!

I am not from the area and never have been there before. I did the best I could! Sorry if it cause inconvenience. I called the hotel and they told me it is waterfront property and 1/2km from downtown Ottawa!
