  1. Today I got the pictures from my last shoot. I've put the first few up in a new album. I am most pleased. I think I almost got a nosebleed just reviewing them for the first time. I mean, hot damn! (If I do say so myself.)

  2. Everyone has their expectations, preferences, and things that turn them on (or off). I like to wear tight dresses in bright reds and blues as much as I like the feeling of lace under worn denim. And don't get me started on leather. Have you ever paused to consider how sensual a fabric corduroy is? On the other hand, I find pastels largely dubious, although I acknowledge their allure for some. I avoid wearing white like some people avoid wearing paisley (which, incidentally, I love). I guess what I'm saying is that I would appreciate if my client would tell me of any distinct preferences re: style or type of clothing, because although I always dress to look and feel my best, not everyone will share my tastes. ;)

  3. I like my weekend so far. I did a photoshoot yesterday, cleaned out my cupboards, and saw a friend. Today I heard from someone I had not spoken to in a long while who I missed dearly. Later I will watch Lord of the Rings. I look forward to finding out what happens next.

  4. A large cast-iron frying pan would be nice. (More efficient for making mountains of french toast.) I'm also looking forward to having some winter fun this year. Every year I mean to go skating on the canal but every day that I make plans to do so ends up being a melty day. :P And I can't remember the last time I went tobogganing but I don't think I will ever stop enjoying it. Ditto for making snowmen. Ditto for snowball fights. Oh and skiing. Winter is a lot of fun so long as you bundle up! I mean sure it's bitterly cold, but there's SNOW. And silly, fuzzy hats!

  5. Younger CERB member here, chiming in to agree with what most of you have said. Experience and the passage of time are absolutely factors that can shape who we are, but there are many more. There are also traits that we seem to carry with us throughout our lives, our beliefs, our choices, our sense of style, our sense of humour, our strengths and weaknesses and the stories we tell ourselves when we're bored. I'm fortunate to have friends of all ages, and while I know they've all been shaped by their lived experience, however much or little of it they have, age appears to have no bearing on the diversity of personalities that I've encountered.

I, for example, will probably never stop being wordy and introspective. I believe these to be timeless qualities.

  6. I can now play 'trapeze waltz' and 'ski ride' on the accordion. I'm learning the coordination required to play a keyboard with my right hand, press buttons with my left, and maintain a continuous airflow in the bellows. I've been experimenting with melody. I think it's so much fun- but I am a bit concerned that my neighbours don't agree. I'm pretty sure it was my playing that made their baby cry.

  7. This morning, the tender fascia under my shoulder blades met the hard surface of a tennis ball. At first they resisted each other, but eventually my body just melted around the ball. My shoulders haven't felt this good in ages.
