How Does a 'Poly Party' Work Exactly?

I just started a thread in Winnipeg about having a social because I'm so jealous of all you friendly Ottawans doing it. But then I thought, what kind of party would we have exactly? Would it be a meet and greet or a 'poly party'. Thing is, I don't really know how one works. Sps and hobbyests alike, please enlighten us. Or me at least! What is a poly party, how do they operate, tips and suggestions for having one, locations and fees or even just experiences, would all be greatly appreciated. I can't believe I never asked this question sooner. ;)

The Cerb Social is an open event, open to Cerb members who are interested in a meet and greet. The location is privately sent out to members who express an interest in attending, date of the event publicly posted in the Cerb Social Thread.

 

The poly social and poly party are linked events. The social is a meet and greet for individuals interested in participating in the party. Both the list

Personally, I think "poly" is the wrong term to use to name these events, but it's a minor quibble.

 

Additionally, since when are gangbangs or other orgies not organized, with boundaries outlined beforehand? I'm pretty sure people don't just fall into these things. Although, there was that one time.... ;)

 

Basically the groupsex social is a meet n' greet similar to the CERB social, but it may involve persons leaving to engage in the 'party' aspect.
