Off Topic: advice needed on transferring a motorcycle

Recommended Posts

My SIL is cleaning up after my BIL died last winter, and she wants to sell a couple of old motorcycles he had in the garage, including a '68 Triumph Saint that used to belong to my husband. It hasn't been plated since 1973 and isn't currently roadworthy. Of course I get to research this, and Service Ontario isn't easy this week. Any advice? Will I need to get a registration? Or is there some alternative for a vintage vehicle being sold as-in? Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I would simply post an ad on Kijiji and sell "as -is".

Not knowing the condition of the engine and components, will be much easier to sell for parts instead of considering restoration and registration. In the ad, mention the known details about the motorcycles and also recommend to "bring a trailer".

So to be clear there are no VIN on it?  If not anybody can make a vehicle with parts from any manufacturer and call it what they want.  Even just change one letter in the name of the motorcycle and nobody will care.  But between you and I a 68 Triumph most not be worth that much, I'm not trying to tell you to scrap it but if you get $100 or $200 for parts it might be the best you are looking for.

Just saying...
