stbus83 141 Report post Posted July 26, 2025 I hope someone can help me. Ok, so I recently got these new wireless, blue tooth headphones, which work great with my iphone! However, I can`t seem to get them to work with my lap top, (Windows 10). They`re supposed to be compatible, according to the manufacturer. ( I`ve tried `Settings` - `Blue Tooth Devices` - `Search` for devices, once found, clicked on `connect`. Says 100 % connected! Tried out an audio file, NOTHING! ) Any suggestions? Am I missing a step?

That happens quite a lot with Bluetooth devices on Windows 10. After connecting them, try right-clicking the speaker icon in the taskbar, then open Sound Settings and manually select your headphones as the output device. Sometimes Windows keeps playing through the laptop speakers even though the headset says “connected”. Also check if the headphones appear twice in the audio list, once as “Headset” and once as “Stereo”. The “Headset” option can sound terrible or not work properly for music. I’d also remove the device completely, reboot the laptop and pair them again from scratch if nothing changes.

Another thing worth checking is whether the Bluetooth service actually installed the audio drivers correctly. I’ve had cases where the device paired fine, showed as connected, but Windows never activated the proper audio profile. Go into Device Manager and look under both “Bluetooth” and “Sound, video and game controllers”. If you see a warning icon or something generic like “Unknown device”, that could be the issue. Updating the laptop’s Bluetooth driver from the manufacturer’s site sometimes fixes it instantly. Also make sure the headphones are not still actively connected to the iPhone at the same time, because some models don’t switch properly between devices and will stay locked onto the phone audio even while showing connected on the laptop.
