HELP! someone`s gotta know this..

Recommended Posts

Guest ***t***iv***

turning it off resets it so I can use the regular keys again..

I think I am hitting the ctrl and shift keys in some sequence that is setting this option on or off.. i just haven't been able to recreate it knowingly

seems very random.. but I doubt it can be, it's a computer, after all

CTRL & SHIFT at the same time should work but it may depend on how many character sets you have. I had to do it 2 or 3 times to get back to normal.

This is because you have a "multilingual" (Canadian French) Keyboard on the laptop.

To fix ..

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Region and Language (Regional and Language Option on Windows XP) -> go to the Keyboards and Language Tab,

Select Change Keyboard and Delete everything except for (EN - US)

Let me know if it works or not :b!

(The keypress that toggles the switch seemed to be Left ALT + Shift)

It's the ctrl shift sequence, and like d-blue said there's like 3 sets of characters so I have to toggle 3 times to get back to normal....

that's why it was so hard.

these are the symbols I was trying to describe lol, just to show off that I can do it now!
