spud271 47779 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 Well let's see, I have so far picked up at the Cabin, the Highlander, the Brig, Live Lounge, the Honest Lawyer and the Heart and Crown. The English accent pays off bigtime in this country! :D Hey guys, I've picked up at Maxwell's. Wednesdays - Saturday nights, Lonestar, Grace O'Mally's, Heart & Crown, and Lonestar and even Hartwell's when it was around. I've met girls of all shapes and sizes and ages at all these bars. YoungStud 468 Report post Posted April 3, 2009 Kind of disgusting to say, according to my liver transplant surgeon (just kidding), but I've been to most of those bars, and have had some success in some, less in others. My theory (developed over the years): the bar doesn't matter that much, as long as lots of men and women drink there. It's how much you want to risk on taking a chance and how you make your moves. Could pay off big time - or you could strike out. Tho' I'm planning to do my Sean Connery imitation more often, since Spud seems to have good success with the Scots accent. Christine (joyfulC) would know about how to do this in the old days.. but I would have no idea.. short of us hanging in a bar and when a guy asks us what we do for a living to hand him my card... but that is bordering on soliciting so wouldn't recommend it. btw. YoungStud 468 Report post Posted April 5, 2009 A little off the beaten path, but a couple of times when I've been at The Barley Mow at 10th Line and Innes, I've noticed some single cougars arrive at the bar and after a few minutes, start chatting with men who are obviously there on their own as well. I've been there with friends doing some business after lunch, so just kind of observed this activity on the perifery. But it seemed to me at least one "couple" left together. I used to love the retro dance nights but it's tough for most of my friends to get out on a Sunday night unless it's a long weekend and then of course it's crowded as hell.
