A Colorado woman who is training for a half-marathon is outraged after she was denied a massage at a spa by the owner - who said she was 'too fat' and 'would probably break the table.'

Laura Smith, who weighs 250 pounds and stands 6-foot-3, admits she isn't 'tiny,' but she is furious with Penny Wells, a so-called 'doctor of Oriental medicine' at Natural Healing Center in Aurora, Colorado.

The incident came one day after she finished running a half-marathon.

A local chiropractor said most massage tables are built to hold 2,000 pounds, and have a 'working weight' of 500 pounds - twice what Ms Smith weighs.

Ms. Smith should should have decked the chiro, she looks like she could kick most doctors' asses whether they be male or female.

Just one more example of big people shaming.

An Oriental spa refusing a female service? Hmmmm, what do you think? I'd put my money on that they needed an excuse and size was the first thing that came to mind. Most asian MAs don't see women...

There is a photo of the practitioner of "oriental medicine" and she looks 100% Anglo to me. Just saying.
