American Netflix, Hulu, BBC's iPlayer....in Canada!

Recommended Posts

Inspired by the question on this thread:

http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=126713

I decided to do a little digging.

Here is how you get American Netflix. And Hulu. And BBC's iPlayer. The three I've tested out, but I'm sure Pandora works too.

1) Download and install Firefox

2) Go to this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/media-hint/

And install

I apologize in advance for lost productivity. As far as the legality of this goes, there is nothing in the books, so you're clear. And CBC and other Canadian based websites may not work, so download Google Chrome for Canadian stuff (And Canadian Netflix)

If you subscribe to a VPN service, you can access Hulu, Netflix, and BBC.

Try this link: https://mediahint.com/

You'll have to make an account. I got a new laptop, so I'll give it a go and let you know if it works.

/edit - well poop, it's now a paid service. It works for those who got the add on before, but new users will have to pay.

/edit 2- Work around! - Check this video, follow instructions, takes about <5 minutes.

I use http://www.unblock-us.com/ It's $5/month and lets you access all of the U.S. websites (Comedy Central, NBC.com, etc) as well as Hulu/Netflix/Amazon. The best part is you can actually choose which country's Netflix you want to use. Tired of what Netflix U.S. has to offer? Switch it to Netflix UK or Netflix Finland and get a whole new batch of movies!

It also lets you continue to use CBC.ca and other Canadian websites so you don't have to keep changing your DNS settings.

Try this for a Free Streaming App. I built a streaming box with XBMC Freeware which gives you hundreds of movies and tv shows like A Game Of Thrones. Easy to set upon your MAC,I PAD, PC tablet or Android Device.
