Ice4fun 78406 Report post Posted July 8, 2014 The problem with all if thus is that for the conservatives this is not a legal issue it is a political issue ... they could care less if this law gets challenged... that will be 5 to 10 years out. this law plays to the political and religious right and supports their political base. For it to be a political issue in the next election it will mean the liberals or NDP will have to come out in favour of prostitution which they won't for if they do they will be hammered with conservative attack ads saying the liberals/NDP are soft on trafficking if sec workers etc etc. It's great to see so many groups like these lawyers come forward and the fight for sex workers rights is moving forward but we will have this stupid law which in the end... just like the segregation laws did, it will help move the issue forward but not without mire fighting and pain by sex workers.
