Barrie man Peter Eric Kirkeby, 26, was arrested by Toronto police on Monday in relation to a child exploitation investigation.

Toronto police have arrested a Barrie man in connection with an investigation of online attempts to sexually exploit children.

Police had received reports that a man was attempting to contact people who would allow him to sexually abuse their children.

The man allegedly tried to enlist someone who was working as an escort to sexually abuse children with him for payment.

Peter Eric Kirkeby, 26, was arrested on Monday and has been charged with four offences related to the attempts. He was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.

Police, believing that there may be more victims, are now asking the public to contact them with information that might help the investigation. The man is reported to have used two email addresses to contact people: [email protected] and [email protected] .
