  1. As in "Up shit creek without a ... :D
  2. I looked through the site and I would take this with a small truckload of salt. If you check some of the other cities and provinces, you will notice that they recycle pictures with different names. All of the pictures are to good to be true anyway. The descriptions are written by someone who is not an english native speaker.
  3. I've been enjoying your blog searches on CL. I have also been taking a perverse pleasure in flagging all the new ones as they come up.
  4. Your passport comment was hyperbole, but in the USA, showing your Canadian passport is a great way to show that you are not LE. And the song and dance routine gets cut to a minimum.
  5. Whew! techy techy. I don't find it a big deal at all. There are many uses of the word "daddy" which doesn't include incest, ie. Who's your Daddy? and of course Sugar Daddy. On the other hand, at my age I count on twenty-somethings who have always haboured a secret desire to "do" dear old Dad! :D
  6. Try spending Canadian money in the USA (except at a border town). I accidentally mixed in a Canuck quarter in my change in San Diego and just about lost an eye when the teller threw it back at me. For any Americans who may be viewing this, it's very simple, Canada is another country with it's own currency and laws. You don't have to come here or stay here, but if you do, try sampling the culture and actually observe what and how we do things. It is really not so bad and you might learn a little something about yourself. I can honestly say I learned more about be a Canadian from travelling around the world than I ever learned while at home.
  7. Having recently relocated to Ottawa, I find no shows are not just an issue for SPs. Tradesmen and Service Companies seem to have a habit of this as well. Where I'm from (West Coast), the problem was getting someone period. They would straight out tell you that they were too busy and would not take you on. Frustrating, yes, but a far site better than waiting around for a carpenter or cable guy that doesn't show as agreed even though he said it wouldn't be a problem. Even though I ask the questions about how tight there scheduling is and offer alternative times. It seems to be something cultural and something I will have to get used too. Fortunately, my travels in South America will be good experience to draw on.
  8. I find that quite often it takes three or four tries to log into chat. It seems to freeze up waiting for data from the server. Once in, everything works fine.
  9. I haven't had my first bill yet, so they haven't seen it. As I look through the fine print. I haven't actually signed a contract yet, just an "application". They still have to provide me a contract which I must sign and then reaffirm by phone before the rate plan takes effect. Also, section 88.9 of OEB Act gives me an out as well. I guess after all these years, one still gets the odd reminder to "READ THE FINE PRINT". Searching the net doesn't give me a good feeling about these guys either, Direct Energy seems to also have a higher proportion of complaints as well, but that could be because they are one of the larger companies.
  10. I know this has little to do with the reason most of us are here, but: What is the board consensus on Energy Marketers like Direct Energy and a few others. I was ambushed at the door by a salesman who succeeded in getting a signature from me, supposedly to sigh that I had received the information package, but then I noticed that I had also agreed to purchase gas from these guys. (must read the fine print closer) My question is: Are these guys worth it? I think it is much the same as fixed mortgage versus variable rate mortgage. These guys are slicing a little off the top to pay themselves or they wouldn't be in business. That comes from my pocket. If I can afford the fluctuations in gas prices over a year, I should, theoretically come out ahead. Your thoughts?
  11. I'm with antlerman on this one. Ben_HX and Troy_B look like the same person trying to appear different with different but similar punctuation styles and intentional misspellings.
  12. BINGO! For many of the "gentlemen" who frequent this and other boards. This is the only place they can talk about their exploits. They are keeping it secret from their families, friends, co-workers and neighbors. That is why these forums, while commonly referred to as "Review Boards" have less reviewing and more discussion about many things related to this activity. I wouldn't worry too much about it, we all understand that a good fish story usually has some embellishment to it, kinda like a phone girl's description of the staff (sorry, couldn't resist). I myself, prefer to read a few details about an encounter to explain why the reviewer gives a certain rating. An outstanding review without any details is useless just as is a poor review without any details as to why, is useless at best and slander at worst.
  13. Just review away. Avoid location or any thing which may identify her out in public. I never post, or pm any contact information and refer them to the SP's ads. As for part-timers or girls without ads, I would pass on contact info only with express permission. Keep your observations and experiences factual and clearly identify what may just be your opinion, especially with respect to negative comments. "She was much larger than indicated on her website" vs "She was a fat pig" or "I have had better experiences and would not repeat" vs "She is a ROB and total WOT!" Exceptions to the rule are ripoffs, stings anf Bait&Switch joints, You can give them the full vitriole you are capable of.
