The Maritimes has always appreciated that you're priced lower than the locals - trust me, most of us independents have been compared to your offerings 🤦😂 But 250 - 300/hr was the going rate more than a decade ago.. I'm not simply absorbing a decade of inflation out of the kindness of my heart. As independents, we just don't have the infrastructure to comfortably absorb those costs personally, especially covering our own overheads

In my experience.. There's not THAT much of a conspiracy lol not even here in Halifax 😂 This isn't specific to sw.. It's been a problem since covid I screen my people, that used to be enough.. Now it's not, so deposits are necessary 🤷 But they're verified, real people, not pimps or Sp's

Power move? $250/300 was the going rate in 2012 😭 Back in the days when we met less screened guests, lyla clients were top tier, hotels were $100, and 90% of clients kept their dates without deposit - didn't even need deposits to tour 🥹 We can all keep crying about the good ol bp days, but it doesn't turn back time, or inflation, or slow down the no shows that have become so rampant in every industry, that even restaurants charge to hold tables now We've all had to make adjustments here lol

The best clients screen and follow the booking practices of their chosen provider. It's that simple This might weed out some nice people, but it's also weeded out so much bs for me personally, I have no regrets I'm still busy enough to be able to pick and choose from the pool of screened and verified guests who contact me, and decide who I want to see or not, for whatever arbitrary reason I choose I get less abuse, blackmail, threats, drama, people showing up without appts, etc, because of this. You don't have to like it, but it does protect us, in many ways You don't have to believe what we tell you, and we don't have to book anyone that makes us uncomfortable, for any reason, screening or not. Idk why that's so hard to grasp

They weren't what ifs.. They happened, or we wouldn't have learned to implement more screening. I used to book fake names and no phone numbers, but they couldn't all be trusted and it ruined it for everyone. Statistically, people just fuck around less if you know who they are irl. That's well studied and documented across many situations, not just sw. In our situation, fucking around risks our health, security, and safety, so we just can't tolerate that
