Jade is finally found...

Recommended Posts

Us, Montreal service providers, are well aware of this problem. Sadly, pimps are kidnapping underaged girls, stone them sky high, and ship them. Even worst, human trafficking is touching everyone, even the unsuspiscious...

In the news this morning (in French), they were saying that she was found in a hotel room, along with three other girls, drugged and ready to leave for another province.

This shows why new laws HAVE to be voted. Not only to protect us, but you too. You could have been her first client...

In French (LaPresse): http://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/justice-et-affaires-criminelles/faits-divers/201601/21/01-4942272-la-jeune-jade-marechal-retrouvee-vivante.php

Rest of information has been gathered this morning at SalutBonjour, on TVA.

New laws? We already have laws that cover these crimes. We don't need more.

Bill C-36 needs to be reviewed. There's no reason we shouldn't be allowed to host wherever we feel the need to.

Also, we need stronger screening for sex workers.

If prostitution was to be decriminalized, it would be easier to keep a registry of working girls in Canada, therefore, spot any anomalies.

You disagree? Fine by me...

Additional Comments:

If you want to know more, Dominic Arpin, during TVA Nouvelles, just called Ontario a ''sex road'' for human trafficking. He will do a report later during the bulletin.

I bet you still can catch it, if you understand French, of course.

true, and c36 did not improve these conditions. before c36 and before and after Bedford, it was illegal to pimp period. No living off the avails, no kidnapping, no coercion, and especially none of that for under 18s. no exceptions.

In June the year c36 was introduced but before they railroaded it into law, dozens and dozens of people were caught, and charged, with the current set of laws dealing with all of the things these girls went thru. No new laws were needed.

the only thing new that people doing this get charged with is if they posted the ads, now there is a law against doing that, so they add that to the list of all the things always illegal.

Germany is trying or succeeded in passing some sort of mandatory registration. the sexworkers there are up in arms about it, in protest. NO sex worker should be obliged to register for anything, even in legalized or decriminalized countries. New Zealand does not require it, nor are licenses required for independent workers.

and that is one of the safest places for sex workers to work.

Yes, what we need is the REPEAL of the law "Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act," rather than the addition of new laws. As you said, the pre-existing laws were already fully sufficient and effective in proseuting the exploiters. Hopefully the new government will follow through on this. But only time will tell.

Here's hopin'!
