are these "verify that you're not a rapist" links all fake then?

Recommended Posts

hi,

I'm brand new to Lyla. I'm not sure whether I should have posted this in the legal forum...

I was on leolist this morning and contacted an SP. the response contained a hyperlink I was to click on to verify that I'm not a rapist or murderer.

the text of the link was: safe erotic hour dot com

it looks sketchy to me, I've never seen this in an escort ad before. do SP's use these types of "verification" links legitimately?

thanks,

Henry

The "Not secure" connection, the unverifiable endorsements from major news networks and the mostly fake camgirls, should answer your question.

Pretty obvious scam, by the sound of it. My bet would be that it takes you to a website where you enter some personal information, and the "give us lots of money or we tell your wife and your boss and everyone else" mail will arrive about five minutes afterwards.

it's more along the lines of we wont charge you anything, but need your credit card info to verify you are over 18 & somehow, determine not a rapist...? That one is ridiculous, i guess they could run your name to see if you have any convictions but i bet you any amount of money that has never fuxking happened but, i digress. From there i can only imagine a bunch of things happen, you likely have to buy tokens to be able to chat with the 'girl'(she isnt real btw, its a bot) in attempts to get a phone number or address, which she will answer your questions with questions endlessly draining your tokens and hey! All you gotta do is click a button to automatically reload more tokens and rack up several hundred dollars in cc debt real quick.  2nd, Guaranteed you didnt read the terms and conditions or any of the fine print and have signed up for one or more '1 day trial' porn site account(s), that will automatically renew to a monthly membership (cost average cost $39.95/30days) subscription... unless you cancel your trial membership before the 24 hours has passed and in order to cancel your trial membership, you will have to contact customer service, with account # billing receipt # & last 4 digits of your credit card used. If you can even find the number to call let alone that info. Fun fun!

Looks like a scam. I would avoid.

Anything that is a hyperlink that is NOT going to her personal website, or a site like this for review checking, I would avoid.
