Hobbying Life Style Balances for the Ladies

Recommended Posts

Questions for the ladies mainly but obersevations from the gents are most welcome. Is your involvement in the industry mainly full time or part time or does it fluctuate? Obviously there are a myriad of reasons for all of us being interested in the hobby, but am curious as to the extent of reliance on the industry by the ladies. Probably more importantly is the question are you able to maintain a good life style balance between your professional and personal lives and if so how do you do it?

For me I see hobbying as an invaluable and necessary part of our lives - some make take issue with this, but I think it is simply a part of life and a very necessary part. At this later stage in my life I see hobbying as a very real and meaningful part of life. It adds a dimension for me that is truly wonderful.

Just as importantly I suppose is the question do you feel you are being adequately compensated (overall) for your professional services and life style accomodations?

I have a full time "other" job, I escort around my schedule so basically I have two full time jobs. I really enjoy relaxing with my clients and for me escorting is my escape from real life and the stress.

I condider my buisness to be part time. I do have another buisness that takes up a fair bit of my time as well. I also spend a lot of time playing sports on my own and coaching others. I do not take last minute appointments because I am far to busy with everday matters and its takes me a little time to schedule properly.

Is it my main source of income? No

I do not consider escorting my main source of income because I am running another business and am doing it full-time but I have the ability to juggle both because I work on my own and from home. I set a schedule during the day for when i see clients and stick to it consistently. Usually I do not work after 6 pm and if i do it has to be scheduled ahead of time and is extremely rare for me to do outcalls. Escorting for me is a way to make extra money for the "wants" in my life and consider it gravy. In the past it was a full-time source of income but I have found my life to be better balanced having another job.

Things happen in this business where a client will book multiple hours and end up cancelling so I have never come to rely upon this source of cash as something consistent. The business it has its highs and lows where money is concerned. There have been days where I have not seen any clients and other days where I've had to turn down appts because it was busy or I wasn't in the mood to see anyone else. I don't consider myself a high volume ecort and will work a max of 1-2 hours a day.

For the little amount of time, I put into escorting, yes I do consider it more than adequate in terms of being compensated. What I make in a half hour escorting, I don't quite make that at my other job with the hours I put in. When I was escorting full-time, there was always the attitude of wanting to make more because you grow accustomed to making a certain amount and if there is a month where it's not busy, it can have a significant impact on your income. You are not on a salary and there are too many fluctuations especially when you are not getting a regular paycheque. That can be scary especially if you have a lot of financial obligations. Having other income that is consistently reliable is much better if you are a person who has a family to take care of, debts to pay off or a mortgage or extra properties.

I consider my lifestyle pretty healthy. Remember the 8-8-8 rule?

I sleep for 8 hours;

Go to school for about the same;

And have fun with the other 8 hours remaining, including escorting.

Of course, this would'nt be the same if I was considering it as a job, but when I feel like doing something else, I do.

For me, it's only distraction in a day such as playing tennis or go to the restaurant, eventhought I consider myself as a pro sp.

Very nice thread idea, Gentlemen11. Whenever I disclose to people in my surroundings that I'm a companion, these questions come up. "Isn't it emotionally draining?" they ask, usually accompanied by "how does being a companion effect your personal life?"

As most people who have replied to this thread so far, being a companion is not my main source of income, nor is it something I do 'full-time'. I have another job, and I'm working on my thesis.

In terms of maintaining a healthy balance between my personal life and my 'professional life', I try and dismantle that dichotomy as much as possible. My friends and family know I'm a companion, and most of my patrons know about my friends and family. I find compartmentalizing useful to a certain extent (mainly for safety reasons), but I try and avoid it as much as possible.

Finally, considering we set our own rates, I definitely feel like I am adequately compensated for my time!
