Photography and local escorts

Recommended Posts

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this (or just the wrong thing to ask!) but I can't think of a better place to get opinions, particularly from the ladies themselves :)

I'm a (pretty good and very serious) figure photographer who occasionally looks for nude models for particular projects. The models are paid, and the pictures are erotic, but definitely art, not porn. They end up on people's walls and in my portfolio, not on sleazy websites.

Unfortunately there precious few genuinely-attractive "mainstream" models around here who model nude, and I think I've shot with most of them already.

On the other hand, there are a lot of stunning-looking escorts around here, and I imagine that at least some of them are relatively free of hangups around nudity.

Would it be a breach of etiquette to approach some of the local ladies to ask if this is something they might consider?

Polite inquiries should never hurt. Of course, be prepared to pay the usual rate for their time.

sure it's fine to ask but like WIT said be prepared to pay their hourly rate if not more.

Do you require models to sign a release form? If so, then they relenquish all rights to their images which, despite your best assurances, can be used for just about any purpose. Just a heads up for the ladies.

If you're selling prints to artistically appreciative buyers, then you need the rights to the photos which means model releases and generally some form of payment. If they're for your own private use, nothing needs to be signed. Also for the type of subject matter, it would be risky to do so without proof of the model's age on file. Asking SPs to give out that kind of info is something most SPs will (and should) draw the line at. Not accusing you of any wrongdoing or ulterier motives. Just saying that the ladies generally like to keep a strong divide between their work and life and part of that is safeguarding their private identities.

I model often. For me there is a distinct difference in a hobbyist asking for his own personal model show, or modeling as a professional.

When it is for a client my rates are the same, perhaps sometimes rates will be adjusted for what it is you are looking for. Never do I do film!!!! And there is a limit to what I will reveal for this type of session.

When I am hired as a model, my rates change. It depends if the photography is of use to me or not, and also depends on a basic contract that deals with selling prints for profits, whereas some royalty is paid, and where they may be published.

You can PM me anytime to discuss this further;)
