Jabba 18389 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 These guys are seriously crazy! :icon_eek: http://zanylol.com/insane_race.html
Guest k***na Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks for the video. I enjoy watching motorbike racing and have been on many bikes myself. My father who is a former racer for Canada in the category of 40 and older, has tought me the basics of riding and he is the only person I trust. I might take classes for insurance purposes(LOL). We have been to the Yamaha store already and I cant wait! I hope to be on my own bike this summer! However...at 1:37 in the video, that was insane! The thrill of being on a bike excites me! Jabba 18389 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Is this going to be your first bike? Give yourself some room to make boo-boo's without killing yourself. There are a lot of crazy car/truck drivers who are just itching to make you a statistic.
Guest k***na Report post Posted February 10, 2012 well to be honest, dont laugh!, one day my dad brought home a Moped when I was 18 and told me that was my transportation. 5$ gas could last a week. LoL I rode it a few times and felt weird. I know thats nothing to compare to a 600 or 750 but its a start! So basically it will be my very first bike. My dad started off with a dirt bike back home, then came to Canada and bought a 600. Years later he then bought a Suzuki GSXR 750 and rode that for almost 10yrs. Now he is on his 2nd Yamaha R1. I have seen/heard of him go down twice in my life but it was nothing too serious. *knocks on wood*. For some, riding is a passion and for my dad he has given up drinking to ride. He drinks half a beer once a year on his bday and thats it. He gave it up for something he loves to do. Accidents scare me even when you think you are safe. You always have to worry about others on the road. Do you ride Jabba?
Jabba 18389 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 I sold my bike last year. 1100 Yamaha Vstar - cruiser style. It was ok, but not enough low-end torque for my likes. I want a tourer like a GoldWing. The GL may seem like driving a two-wheeled RV, but I like to feel my ass after a long day's drive.
ulixestrojan 3757 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Thanks for the share! I once saw this race and the speed is nuts. You are so close you feel the air pressure as they approach and draft as they pass. On a light note - you might like this: I am on bike 28 - first one was a Honda 70 when I was twelve, now have three: Harley, Ducati, Vespa
Guest k***na Report post Posted February 10, 2012 At least the Goldwing looks comfy for both driver and the passenger in the back. I find the newer sports bikes make it uncomfortable for the passenger. I used to hold on to the back of my dads older bike and now with his R1, im higher then him because the seat is higher and it makes it hard to hold on. He wears a fanny pack around his waste when he is riding so I just hold on to that.lol

whatsup 11893 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 I am missing life in the fast lane, ex R1 owner. Damn 50 Km over law. the bike just gets more comfortable at 120 Km +. The raw pure acceleration rush that these Machines deliver is amazing. Do ride with your eyes wide open.

The moped I got to ride yrs ago was close enough to a scooter and it was just sooo slow! Being on bike gives you a thrill and I definitely did not feel it on a moped. cometman 35115 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 There's no better feeling in the world than to be on a bike.......alone and riding aimlessly. I did the sport bike thing in the '80's and survived it. I now ride my 1800 sport cruiser whenever I can.......no phone, no employees, no problems. I ride more at night than in the day because of my vocation and find it cleansing and therapeutic. Strangely enough, I've had more close calls lately than in my 20's. People driving cars are not paying attention like they used to. Here's a couple of good links to watch...especially the second one.

The Ducati on the other hand - has a hard time staying under 150. The Harley is not about speed, though it shovels. More about long rides with big bottom girls that keep my ears warm. Guest k***na Report post Posted February 11, 2012 I ride more at night than in the day because of my vocation and find it cleansing and therapeutic. Its interesting that you mention that. My dad who is in his 50's still rides his bike. He is also a survivor of 5 heart attacks. His specialist has suggested that he keeps riding(he wouldnt have stopped either way!). The doctor said it was like a stress reliever for him. Although the thrill must keep your heart racing maybe thats what kept his beating.

A Vespa can do 120?? What colour is it?
