Consider, there are virtually thousands of different styles available over the course of a few seasons ... Could it be that to some extent there is a global shoe fetish ? Women love shoes and why not ? They have the tendency to add to the existing beauty and allure of a women and at the same time make at least one statement. My favorite (like many) are the high open toe strappy sandals; the statement they say is: stylish, sexy. Joie de Vivre, independent , etc. By contrast Birkenstocks I would categorize as a form of birth control as they are the antithesis of sexy or style . statement : no style deluded into a false sense of comfort to help rationalize, they are to esthetics what raid is to insects.
