From what I read, she understands that you wouldn't have a reference, this being your first time and all. Did she then proceed to decline to see you? That part's not clear in your message. Usually, all it takes is being open, honest, and complying with the escort's requests. And to show that you are someone that will treat her with respect and not make her feel unsafe at any point. So you did right and passed the gate! The style and tone of the initial communication is very important, be it by text, email, or phone call. I'm sure the ladies will agree with this. In some cases, however, this will not be sufficient with a provider, and in that case you may decide to move on, or use the verification methods already suggested to arrange a first meeting.
