Wallace48 571 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Just got back from a trip to view the ruins at Pompeii and found that one of the best buildings to survive was the brothel. It was well marked with a penis carved on the door and sidewalk. And talk about McDonalds! On the wall were a series of well preserved illustrations of services provided.
Wolf Knight 29667 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Did you happen to see if they offered GFE back then? :)
Old Dog 179138 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Did you happen to see if they offered GFE back then? :) Of course the did Chuck! Of course in Pompeii, GFE meant GIANT FLAMING ERUPTIONS. Pretty much put a damper on the whole trip to the brothel....
Tallguy007 4172 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 The romans also had specific coins for use in prostitution, Spintria. Each coin depicted a sexual act. Some speculate that these could have been tokens presented to the lady indicating which act you'd paid for. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spintria (one of the tamer Spintria)

Guest S****r Report post Posted May 7, 2013 I visited the ruins many years ago and somehow I either missed that piece of information, or didn't retain the memory. That is pretty interesting. But I was thinking: maybe the Giant Flaming Eruptions referred to a promise of a huge orgasm instead! lol
Guest B**na***oy Report post Posted May 7, 2013 Not surprising, considering we're dealing with the oldest profession. ;-)
