Yep, another newbie! (for the sp's)

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm new...sort of. I've spent 5 years in the industry in Ontario - but always as an agency girl. I've been retired for the last few years, and I'm considering going back temporarily, but want to be independent. I'm not looking for high volume - 3 to 6 calls a week maybe.

So I guess my questions are:

- I want to stay safe. What is the best way to pre-screen?

- I'm in Calgary. I realize that licensing is required - but is it really? for such a low volume? are there benefits to being licensed?

- Where are the best places to advertise?

I've got a couple books on order...but was looking for any other tips that may be useful. I don?t personally know anyone else in the industry.

Thanks for your help.

:)

My understanding is that they only give licenses to agency girls and that makes independents technically illegal.

I do hear of busts from time to time. Usually if the appointments are at certain hotels.

Calgary gentlemen are pretty good about providing references as part of the screening process. There are lots of no-shows, time wasters and even aggressive/violent with outcalls to people's homes.

Hope that helps.

I've only been there a couple of times and had no problems..i would certainly ask the gents for a reference from another known provider and his contact number to confirm. Advertise on escorts-Canada. there are other places as well just have to look up escorts in Calgary and I'm sure you will find a few places..

kisses,

It's been a while since I looked into this.. been planning on a western tour for a while.. but never seem to get there!

My understanding of licensing is that you agree to be an 'escort' which legally means you agree only to go out for social engagements and not engage in sex. This is not what you want! it's a by-law enforced deal. You are a prostitute and be proud of that. Do not get licensed. Certainly ask about this on some of the western boards.. I can't remember where I first heard this.

I believe the deal with being licensed is that you are supposed to do outcalls only, no incalls. From my experience, if you are a travelling Indy girl you likely are not to get into any problems with bylaw if you are discrete.

I live in Alberta, and mostly not a big deal, except for Calgary right now. Seems that if word of the location gets out to certain people, you can expect a visit from Calgary's CPS. If you take care with your activities, it should not be an issue.

Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat do not have these issues, seems only Calgary at this time. There are lots of Indy girls in Calgary right now working and they are not having an issue, I think because they are careful. We are regularly getting travelling Indy girls from the East these days and are enjoying the variety. Good luck with everything.

Carrie is dead on, do not license. The trixie part is incalls, and thats where they get you. The easiest is not to advertise them, and insist all first appointments be outcall. Once you know the gent, then you can put him on the incall allowed list.
