I'm very new as well... Though I'm a hobbyist, not an SP. I have followed the industry via different message boards for several years. Based only on what I've read, I've found that hobbiest seem to have a dislike for Agencies. However, if your gonna try to make it as an independent, you do need resources to make it work. Seems to me that a web site is a must. And you'll stay busy posting on every board out there and getting your face on every escort related site. It does look as though there is a lot of work to getting clients.

Hi Everly,

Welcome. You ask an interesting and difficult question. Are you asking us who we, as clients, prefer to deal with? Or are you wondering what would be best for you as a new lady in order to gain some experience?

From a clients perspective some men prefer independents while others like the variety an agency can provide while still allowing one to maintain the preferred status of a regular. Other clients will book from both. The biggest concern would be the agency you choose (if you go that way). Read some of the reviews and you will get a feel for which ones are well liked and trusted.

As far as your personal choices have you considered the pros and cons of an agency vs. independence?

Agency Pros:

- advertising, bookings, communications all handled for you

- added level of security as others know where you are

- incall location provided

- an opportunity to learn the business with less financial risk

Agency Cons:

- you essentially pay for all of the services listed above

- you will be expected to adhere to some sort of regular schedule

- a disreputable agency could damage your reputation as well

- you have little control over how you are marketed

- you have little say in who you see as an SP

Independent Pros:

- All money earned is yours

- You choose which clients you spend your time with

- You set your own work hours

- Your image is your own

Independent Cons:

- You will spend hours doing all of the administrative things an agency could provide

- You will still need to cover the overhead of a location, advertising, website, driver etc

- without a mentor you will likely make a lot of mistakes

I'm sure there are several other factors that I have missed but this should give you a very basic idea of what you are up against.

Only you can determine which route is best for you. Consider your strong suits. Many successful independent ladies have started their careers by learning the ropes in an agency. The trick will be finding a quality one run by people you feel you can work with.

Best of luck which ever way you decide to go.

RNH

This really an issue based on your experience. If you have little to no experience, working with a good agency can give you a lot of information that you might not otherwise know until its too late.

You might also consider if you decide to stay independent, to seek out a mentor. Sometimes that is really all you need.

Feel free to contact me if you would like help. I am usually online.

xoxo

Excellent point, mentors are an invaluable fountain of knowledge and experience. They can help shine a guiding light and provide great perspectives on your dillema..

Mentors are important for all career paths. Treasure the ones you find and work well with.
