An Underage Girl's Story

Agreed! with the statement above--that is exactly where the resources need to be going--on uncovering and prosecuting exploiters and protecting anyone coerced into anything. I am sure every escort and hobbyist on here would heartily agree!

Put all the pimp scum in prison and let all the other prisoners that they are there for pimping children, and then just sit back and wait for nature take it's course. Those pimps will never hurt anyone again.

A sad story for sure but the pimps wouldn't be making money or be able to sell their victims if it weren't for the men who are willing to see them. There must be a demand for very young girls or else why does this continue to happen? that's the saddest part. I'll never understand why a grown man would want to have sex with a female that looks like a girl/child, or someone young enough to be his child or grand child, but that's me.

Is anyone else at a loss as to why the police are not supporting these girls?

She is saying she worked with 100+ other underaged girls. We saw how effective the last sweep was. When do LE realize their tough and tough ways are not working? It seems every time there is a case of underaged or trafficked victims it is cracked by the public. All the LE ever seem to do is break trust with the people who help them.

I'm incredibly upset. These were children and the law has failed to keep them safe after they came forward. Unacceptable.

That's exactly the reason why sex work should be legal. Only that way will they be able to really concentrate on the abuse, coercion and trafficking without wasting time and ressources on conscenting adults.

"Someone Young enough to be his child" that's possibly half of the cerb members. Anyone that see someone 20 years younger.

And looking like a girl/child is pretty subjective in a way. The size of the breasts or the curves? A lot of adults have very small breasts or small silhouette. And some childs have breasts as young as 11-12.

Pubic hair is something only pubescent girls have...but a lot of guys (and girls) prefer bald pussy.

Most girls around 15-16 are already fully grown. It's pretty hard to know what age they have, especially with the tendancy of women to try looking as young as possible, while teenagers trying to look older.

I think the problem is a lot more with the intentions then just who you find attractive. There's really no different between someone being attracted to a 15 years old but not doing anything cause she's not interested and being attracted to a 25 years old, but respecting that she said no when asked out. Both are okay. The guy who'll harass or attack a girl that said no on the other hand, it's always wrong, weither the girl is underaged or 18+.

There's absolutely a market for younger girls. Men always have and always will be attracted to younger women. That's actually pretty common in nature, I even recall a university professor providing an evolutionary explanation for it but I really don't think I could articulate it without sounding crass (I'm an accountant, not an anthropologist). But we're somewhat unique in the animal kingdom in that we have societal rules that contradict instincts for the greater good. Hormones are not always so easy to turn off like a switch a girl is a day south of whatever age a country deems legal. And some men obviously just don't care about rules or, well, just being an asshole.

It is pretty easy to read between the lines with some of these ads. Although there's not many 18 year old ads on the likes or backpage or craigslist anymore (I guess that's too much heat for HRM right now). 19 seems to be the new 18. Guys, just stay away. It is very risky meeting anyone unverified and even remotely young looking right now. There is public pressure on HRPD as a result of all this media attention and they WILL respond.

It's not easy to help people that don't take the first step to seek help. Some of these girls are making these choices on their own don't want help. Others are afraid. Back to Bedford, the whole industry operates under a cloak of silence and darkness. Not just for fear of law enforcement (pre-Bedford), but fear of friends and family learning about a less than socially acceptable profession/hobby. Unless someone blows a whistle it is hard for the police to know there's someone there that needs help. AND then the police might even have to convince these girls that they need and should accept the help.

The girls came forward abd were promised helped "disappearing". They were not given what they were promised. I understand what you're saying abd I agree but the hard part was done. They took the information and the girls and their families were left without support.

There was a study done not that long ago about street kids in NYC. They said the overwhelming majority of the kids wanted to be there, were not coerced into providing sex work, there were no pimps (again for the majority). I believe i posted a link to the study somewhere, it indicated something like 10% might have been 'managed'.

These were the under 18s.

A lot of these kids know what their options are. They may not be making great choices, but they are still making that choice. For the girl in the story, she chose not to remain in homes where she was living. She didn't want to live by the rules. This is not unusual with some teens, who feel like they are old enough to make their own decisions so in the end, this is what they decide.

And like most teens, they make the bad choice and then they get stuck because they can't admit that the parents were right.

Part of the reason I stay well away from anyone advertising themselves as 19-20 is for the fear that it's not true.

And I'm not sure if this is the case in this situation, but a street life, drugs, and alcohol can do a number on someone's body and face. It can age you like you cannot believe. I thankfully haven't seen cases like that here, but unfortunately when I was in India, it was insanely sad to see kids that could pass off as someone 10 years older.

I'm hoping that there isn't that much demand for insanely young girls in Canada...and maybe this might by a reason why men keep going back, because they think they're fine and that the girl is truly over 18.

You may be right, but it's been said by a lot of cerb and other men that I've met that they COULD'NT be with a female that was young enough to be their child or grandchild, so it's not just me that says or believes this:)

Yes how we see things can be subjective but I would think if a man saw a female that looked young enough to be underage then the safe/smart thing would be to back off and assume she was. As far as younger looking older that happens and yes some can be fooled but that doesn't justify being attracted to the very young. A grown man/woman should want to have sex with grown men and women.

With all due respect it's not okay! Attraction or intentions. If you are an adult and attracted to a 15 yr old CHILD that's not okay in any way. However I'll never understand as I said before why an adult male, especially one over 30 would want to have sex with a teenager. I realize 18 is legal and a teenager but in my mind and I'm sorry if I offend anyone but they are still kids to me . They need to be protected by mature adults not seen as or used as sex objects by mature adults. But again that's just how I feel, others may see it differently, different people, different opinions. Thanks for your response:)

That i totally aggree. But it's also true for adult women. Nobody should be seen as just a sex object and nobody should be used. That's why IMO, lying to someone just to get him/her in bed is immoral.

I was only commenting on attraction. I don't think underaged girls are ready to make a choice like entering sex work and it should still be against the law. There's a big difference between having a personnal sex life for yourselves and doing it as a profession with all the other things to take into account.
