How do you deal with the phone issue?

Recommended Posts

My phone got stolen a little while ago, and I know that eventhough my pix were'nt safe, my clients info were...

Here's some lines of conduct I follow and like my clients to follow... What about you???

As soon as a client send me a text, I reply if I'm available to do so, and I erase the whole conversation afterward;

I do not keep my clients info such as phone number or address afterward... Some get frustrated that I don't remember them on the phone... It's a way of protecting you and me;

Some are asking me if they can film... Yes, you can, on my phone, and it'll be erased in front of you;

I do keep a lot of phone numbers, but all commercials and some friends who don't know about the buisness, like reaturants, stores, taxi companies;

If I have a no show or bad date, I mention it to the mod, on cerb, who knows how to deal with it...

The only phone numbers I store in my phone are clients who have given me permission to do so, so I can recognize their number when they call me. I do not call them unsolicited. Some want me to "recognize" their number as some days I don't always post, but still available to regulars.

Like you, I erase all other numbers and texts.

The only ones I save are the BS'ers, WOT, No Show Etc. And that is for good reason when using my cell phone. When using a landline, I have my features set up so that blocked calls don't even get a chance to ring thru. Also it shows the name AND number of who's calling.

I save some numbers on my phone, but for the most part I delete then after our meeting!

As for my phone issues, I like to find a place that has no phone service and set up my office there!

I have to admit ... I have so much number registered in my cell phone. Most part of the number are from no-show, jerkers who make me lose my time on the phone or clients who I don't want to meet because I have a bad feeling.

best way is to put a pin code on your cell phone ... to lock it when you don't use it

You can also use a number from a service like is described here (http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=25627&page=2) so that if you ever lose your cell phone, you can simply have your calls directed to a new cell phone. Also if a SP moves between cities - you could even have numbers in multiple places that ring through to the numbers of your choice. When you originate calls using this service, the number you call never gets stored on your cell - the calls will always appear to be to your PrivNum. Of course on the actual phone that receives the call - you still need to erase incomming call info as described int he other posts.

I had the unfortunate experience of having a SP who had arranged a few dates for me get busted by the Cops.

How it impacted me... Well first I get an e-mail from the SP. Jake the cops have my addy book,, don't worry you were safe and legal. then the next E-mail.

Jake, they got my phone list, they may call you, say nothing, you were safe and legal, contact me if you have any concerns. So I contact her directly while crapping my panys thinking my mariage and career are dead.

Then the deaded call. Jim... we aquired your phone number out of a prostitutes phone and ould like to discuss this with you in person. Would you like to come to the station or should we come by your house. Sorry officer it must be the wrong number my name is Jake... and if you step foot onto my property you better have a warrent and my lawyer present.

Sorry sir must have the wrong number.

Got to have one more date arranged then the SP retired (sort-of)

Make SURE you ask your SP's to store your CERB name not your real name in their books.

Saved my balls

The best advice when dealing with this issue. Remember the burden of proof is on the police. Just having your phone number stored on a escorts phone is not enough proof to convict you of squat even if they had your real name. Most people make the mistake of trying to "explain" things or because they feel "intimidated" they end up talking to the cops. Call their bluff. Unless they catch you in a sting there is vitually no chance that they will even pursue an investigation much less actually prosecute. When the cops make a call like this they are "fishing" just make sure you don't bite.

And remember if it was outcall it was legal anyway.;)

AFAIK the iPhone has this capability only if you subscribe to MobileMe.
