I think Carlos means they leave PK and go independent and charge 250.00 and he does not understand why they would raise the rates if they were no longer paying agency fee's. I could be wrong, Obviously Carols's first language is not English so he could be struggling with the translation here.

I would disagree with that Dreamer.

 

Usually a good inde girl will do better then an agency girl if they market themselves right. They may take less calls but let me explain a few things and give you all a little insight here.

 

The agency tells the girls what the agency rate is and how much they will get (usually around 50% after the driver is paid sometimes less sometimes more) so they agree to do calls threw the agency at that rate because the agency promises to keep them busy, take care of bookings, take care of drivers or accommodations, take care of advertising, etc... Oh, and the agency will promise the girls they will make a few thousand a week.

 

Well for an agency girl to make a few thousand a week they have to take on average 5 calls a day 7 days a week... OUCH! Come on guys... think about that!

 

Often the agencies can not deliver on this promise... and even if they can that is a lot of work for someone in this business (Makes for poor service - especially for client number 4 and 5 that day! and that is average it could be 8 calls one day and 3 the next day)

 

Often the girls wise up to this and go independent, take less calls per day, work when they want to, charge a slightly higher premium and give a better service cause they are happier and not worn out all the time.

 

A lot of people don't trust agencies and find they get better service with the independent ladies. I know when I get paid more I work harder and when I am not tired and enjoy my job I work even better (No difference).

 

Many agencies know guys don't trust the agencies so often they market the ladies as inde girls (Don't know personally if this happens much in Ottawa but cities like Vancouver, Winnipeg and Toronto it's very popular so I am sure it happens in Ottawa). I find the opposite in Montreal however, for some reason the agencies seam to control everything but we can save that for another thread as I will never understand the business in Montreal!

 

No mater how you look at it the girl will eventually say "hey, I can make more money and work less if I do this without the agency". Some of them return when they realize that booking advertising, appointments, scheduling, emails, phone call questions, screening, rent, drivers, etc... really are a lot to handle on top of the actual JOB so often the girls will fall back to the agencies (and in slow times the girls go to the agencies and work for a few months - often scoop up some of the agencies regulars by passing private contact numbers)...

 

If you notice the really good girls don't seam to stick with the agency... so the agency is constantly in need of new girls. They recruit new girls to the business and once the girls get wise on how it works... off they go. The only ones that stick around are the ones who are too unorganized to manage themselves and take comfort in the agency doing this for them. I see guys here all the time bitching cause the girl doesn't return emails or answer her phone, or misses appointments, etc... well now you know why. Remember most of these ladies do not have a degree in business management so you must expect some drawbacks.

 

Now the greed... if the girl goes independent of an agency they must

 

(1) take care of advertising expenses (Much more to advertise one girl then say 10 girls if you work out the per girl costs involved - especially in Ottawa with the SUN's prices!!)

 

(2) they have to take care of scheduling and bookings

 

(3) drivers (if they do outcalls) / Hotel or rental expenses if they do incalls (and this can be very costly if she is using the incall location all to herself)

 

... and the list goes on. So really you can't say it's greed.

 

Do you not ever wonder why the agency staff turn around is soo high? Why do the girls you like to book with that agency always leave?? It's really not hard to figure out.

 

Hope that sheds some light on this subject.

 

Hopefully the guys who complain about prices, service, missed appointments, scheduling, returned emails, asking stupid time wasting questions to the ladies, etc... read this and realize why this stuff happens.

I appreciate your input on Agencies and I think in alot of cases you are probably right. Just a few points that I would want to clarify...

 

 

First off, IF an escort that works with us would have done 5 calls a day, 7 days a week.. (Which in our opinion is WAY too much) They would have earned anywhere from 3200-4500 per week plus tips.. Which would be very comparable to someone independant.

 

I also agree with you that this is a business that if you don;t have your heart into, it really shows.. So for this reason we will book only for someone a maximum of 5 days a week. We recommend 3-4 days as this can be stressful and people have to have a life. We pre-book with Schedules therefore the days that they are working they can be as busy as they want to be and they can easily work around a schedule that they have agreed on.

 

With the experience of being in the business for a while, we have compiled a list of "problem customers" ie aggressive, no shows, or thefts.. (And it numbers in the hundreds). Therefore there is an extra layer of protection from our screening process.. We also insist on a landline and we reverse look-up before sending on a call.

 

We employ people to answer the phones at night, as well as answer e-mails promptly and talk to our huge customer base realtime online on our MSN list.

 

We offer the ladies our drivers for personal use 24-7.

 

And we spend ALOT of money on color/display Ads as well as huge phone bills in order to keep things rolling.

 

All of those things aside, makes this an attractive place for ladies to come and work. In fact the majority of the ladies that do come to us are Independants and find at the end of the day they ended up ahead being here.

 

Without getting into financial details, I will say that our agency fee is considerably lower than 50%, it is even lower than 40%.. the fact that we are high volume makes up for it.

 

And last point on Turnover of ladies.. Our agency has a zero tolerance on drug use when working.. If we see a problem we nip it in the bud. It puts the ladies and the clients at risk when they are not in control. As well as from a legal point of view it puts the agencies at risk.

 

Lets face it; this is not a career choice for everyone. Our view is that hopefully it is a means to an end, and alot of the ladies that work with us are students or people trying to move up a bit in their world. When people leave us, we try to keep on good terms and we like to keep in touch with them.

 

I just felt compelled to respond to this thread as it seemed very anti-agency, and I think that in many cases you are correct. But I don;t think that every agency should be lumped into the same group.

At this time no "Rule book" exists for how agencies are operated, what they can charge and how they do things but thank you for your response and input on the subject.

 

This post was intended to explain to the public what the "normal" is in this business (Averages) and not pointing a finger at any particular agency. From the general consensuses here on cerb your agency is run better then most and your comments are a direct reflection on this.

 

I am glad you are not taking the normal 50% and I am glad you are considering the girls well being.

 

Your post does confirm for everyone what the agencies are all about (management, security, advertising, scheduling and clerical duties).

 

Those were the points I was trying to get across and to open peoples eyes so they realize it's not that easy or cheap to run a service. Most people don't realize the costs involved and most people don't realize that when they book through an agency the girl only gets say 100.00/hr of the money they are handing over (Often much less - especially after the driver gets paid).

 

When the ladies go from working with an agency to working as independents they quickly find out that it costs a lot more then they "assumed" to keep the business running and is a lot more work so again this is why some of the ladies choose to continue to work for an agency and often just take a few good clients off on the side.... and a reason why agencies will loose 2 or 3 ladies at a time as they will group together, share costs and work independently as a group without an agency.

 

At least you contribute here on the board and let people know what your all about, many agencies don't want any extra attention in matters like this. I doubt we will have any other comments from any other agencies on this thread...

i agree that pk runs their agency very professionally and in my opinion is a nice, safe, friendly environment for sp's. I can say this because i have seen many ladies with pk and they all seem pretty happy with where they are at and with that they are getting from this company.

 

I have also seen a few indy's who are also doing well for themselves, some who do not want to be reviewed unfortunately but they are concerned about safety and consistency in the business. In response to the thread, there are benefits to both being with an agency and be independent but for sure if there are any girls out there looking for safety and a nice group of people to work with, i think pk is a good choice.
