I will be organizing the next Ottawa social for both male and female CERB members in good standing on Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Ottawa. Since this is being organized by CERB members for other CERB members, please do not bother the MOD about this event. It will be held a centrally located venue in Ottawa. It will be in a reserved room of a public bar/restaurant. It will run from approximately 6:30 p.m. until closing time. There will be a variety of music played and dancing will be encouraged. There will be a limit of 60 spots available (ideally 30 gents/30 ladies), on a first-come, first-served basis to those members in good standing who have some presence on the board or in the hobby (if you have a low post count, but good rep, that's all we care about). There will be a cost for gents to attend and tickets will be available starting the first week of April. You will be able to pay by e-mail money transfer, postal money order or cash (in person in advance to me.). The price of the tickets will be $45. This is to cover drinks for the ladies, appetizers, door prizes and other expenses associated with organizing these events. There will be no cost to the ladies to attend, however you will have to confirm 3 days before the event that still intend on coming due to the fact we always sell out and end up with a waiting list. If you didn't get a chance last time, you will be given first priority. I am looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. This is a meet and greet social event in a public venue (no hanky panky :smile:) and as with past events, expect all attendees to behave accordingly. Remember, CERB members from all across Canada (and elsewhere) are welcome to attend. If you think you might like to join us, feel free to pm and let me know. Since this is being organized by CERB members for other CERB members, please do not bother the MOD about this event. It will be held a centrally located venue in Ottawa. It will be in a reserved room of a public bar/restaurant. It will run from approximately 6:30 p.m. until closing time. There will be a variety of music played and dancing will be encouraged. There will be a limit of 50 spots available (ideally 25 gents/25 ladies), on a first-come, first-served basis to those members in good standing who have some presence on the board or in the hobby (if you have a low post count, but good rep, that's all we care about). There will be a cost for gents to attend and tickets will be available starting in mid-August. You will be able to pay by e-mail money transfer, postal money order or cash (in person). The price of the tickets will be determined at that time as well. This is to cover drinks for the ladies, appetizers, door prizes and other expenses associated with organizing these events. There will be no cost to the ladies to attend, however we will be doing things a bit differently this time. Due to the popularity of past events and the fact there are some ladies we had to turn away because we were full, if you are such a lady, you will be given first priority this time. I kept a list from last time. And ladies, for those of you who said you wanted to attend and then did not even extend us the courtesy of letting us know beforehand (or even afterwards) that you couldn't attend, please do not embarass yourself by asking to come this time. We have more people wanting to attend, than spots available and you had your chance, sorry.:confused0024: This also applies to the gents who I said could pay at the door last minute and didn't show either. I do not wish to make this a sore point or create any controversy - it's just something that had to be said. Moving on to a more positive note - looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones. To all the Ladies and Gents on CERB: Mark your calendars for Thursday, December 8th as the date for the Christmas Social being hosted in Ottawa by yours truly and Old Dog. More info will be posted in November regarding ticket sales for the Gents and Agencies (cost and number of tickets we will be selling), venue, etc. Please note that this is NOT a Cerb sponsored party so please do not bother the Mod about this upcoming event. For discretion purposes, this event is only open ONLY to Cerb members, regardless of what part of the country you are from. Out-of-town members and touring ladies are most welcome. The dress code for this event will be business-casual or Christmas wear. No micro-minis or t-shirts or ripped jeans please. I will be taking care of both e-mail money transfer and cash payments. Tickets will be available the first week of November. At previous socials, we had some generous benefactors for door prizes, so if anyone is so inclined to contribute to this one, donations of gift cards of any denomination would be welcomed. Hope to see some old familiar faces and new ones of course at the next social. Remember Ladies - If you are an SP/MA member of CERB, there is no cost for you to attend. Agency owners may also attend (with paid ticket) and are welcome to bring along up to a maximum of 4 ladies this time (for free of course).

For discretion purposes, this event is only open ONLY to Cerb members, regardless of what part of the country you are from. Last time we had at least six out of town guests and we hope to encourage more of you to turn out. Visiting ladies and gents always welcome. To ensure continued success of these socials and to make them even better, I will ask that you PM me in the next month or so if you are interested in attending. Please remember, as in the past, tickets will be limited so it's best to secure a spot in advance. This will give me an idea of how many people would like to attend. Once again, Nicki will be taking care of handling e-mail money ticket sales which will be sometime in the middle of August. I will be handle the cash ticket sales. Hello Cerbites, Mark your calendars , here is advance notice so there are no excuses for not coming. Feb 10th in Ottawa is the Unofficial Cerb Valentines Social. Don't bother MOD about it, it is put on by members and not by CERB itself. More info will be coming as we get closer to the date, just wanted anyone who wants to come to be able to come. Thanks Ottanon (Ottawa Anonymous) - I will need help with this one. Especially different ends of town where people can pick up tickets. Perhaps we will do something for the Food Cupboard this time. FYI- In response to some questions I have had. I do not make any money off of this, in fact the last social cost me out of pocket about $250 (and i did not even get a lapdance for that :) ). I bought the food that kept coming , all the party favors and the nice tip that was given to the waitress. If anyone else wants to take over, be my guest. -
I just wanted to extend a big thanks to Angela (ticket sales, advertising, winning draws for prizes), Carrie Moon (ticket sales), Catherine Sinclair (for her lovely gift bags for the ladies) as well as Ottanon (picking the venue )and for making this event happen and all their hard work. It was a nice turnout in terms of attendance and was great to meet some new faces as well as familiar ones. It appeared that everyone was in good spirits and enjoyed themselves. So, who would like another social to happen in the spring? Perhaps sometime in May? I am willing to step up and host the party this time. A new venue may be in order this time around. Okay Cerbians, it has been a while since the last social, so I am gonna call the next one for Thursday October 14th. This is open to Cerb members and their guests. I plan to arrive after work, between 4:00 and 4:30. I don't want to reveal the location I have selected until the week of the 14th, so if you are interested you will have to wait until then. All I will say, is that it is downtown and within walking distance of Confederation Park. Now gentlemen, I don't think we should count on the strength of our personalities to ensure a good turn out by the ladies. We will need to treat them and show them some hospitality. The one in August was quite sucessful. So, does this interest anybody?
