According to information provided to media by the Truro police, Thomas William MacDonald and Rebecca Kristine MacKinnon have been charged by the Truro Police Service's Criminal Investigation Division with various offenses involving prostitution.

The release indicates between the dates of Aug. 8 and 16, the adults advertised sexual services of a person and kept a common bawdy house.

MacDonald, the release said, also communicated with a person for the purpose of sexual services.

All these acts are in violation of the Criminal Code.

Both are being released on conditions and will appear in Truro court at a later date.

This matter and subsequent charges are the result of information being received from the public and through a police investigation. This remains an open investigation and Truro police ask anyone with information to call 902-895-5351.

There isn't anything in those charges to indicate these people were up to no good, At best, they could be facing charges because they were running an escort agency with an incall location, in a way that sps were benefiting from.

Last week a woman was sentenced to 5.5 years in Alaska for 'trafficking' charges, a former sex worker herself, she ran a booking/screening service for sps, for their safety. No one coerced, forced, or threatened.

If these charges are not accompanied by referenced to trafficking, coercion or references to underagers, chances are very high it is just a shut down of a safe working location for sps.

maybe not, but these cases that are coercive the charge list is very long and specific.
