Expectations From Touring Ladies, and Ladies Coming Into Ottawa.

Recommended Posts

Later in the thread you post about how wrong it is for women to compare themselves to objects, yet you advertise one of your girls as a "sex bomb" & "playboy material", so how is that any different than an indy comparing herself to a fine wine?

I think you're very right to point this out. I recall several months ago, one of the PK girls was advertised as an "animal in bed" and "a breed of her own." This is dehumanizing language. I suggested, why not say she's "in a class of her own"? One PK provider was also described as "the dirtiest slut around" on CL.

So how is it okay to say "the dirtiest slut around" but it's objectifying women to say "she's like fine wine"?

Give me a break.

I actually agree with what you are saying. What you have to realize in our advertising.. What is being written is what the ladies that work with us want us to write. The ladies that work with us are almost independants. So as their agents, not their employers I am doing what they ask.

If it was up to me, I would keep it much more classy and subdued. What is happening in the CL world is that everyone is trying to one-up each other and the ladies that are working with us are following suit.

I actually wish they would shut down CL and keep things more classy and upscale. And have paid advertising on EC and moderated advertising on places like Cerb.

I have noticed a pattern of you trying to absolve all responsibility by claiming that the women are independent.

The fact is, when an agent chooses to represent someone be it a model, an author, or an escort, he believes in them and stands behind them 100%. Obviously you do not.

If you can't believe in the women who work with you 100% and you are against their choices in advertisement among other things, why represent them? It's obviously not a good fit.

Here's the position that I hold in this situation.

I work for these ladies, so the ultimate decision is theirs how they wish to be represented. Its not that I am trying to absolve responsibility, its that you are not used to having an agency actually BEING an agency and not an employer. The minute I start controlling the ladies and telling them what to do it becomes a different ball-game. And I don't play that way.

Now if I am being honest, the advertising that is being used IS actually very effective.

I may not totally agree with the methods, but the end result is there. They are busy and making very good money.

If things were to change, and CL was to close the erotic section they would be forced to change their methods. And it would clean up the market dramatically.

Remember a few years back before CL was being used. Newspaper ads were tame and it had a different level of class attached to things.

sorry J but you keep backpedaling that you are happy that girls are charging x amount successfully and agree with all that is being said when you are the one who started this thread stating the shock over girls charging more like they wouldnt make it far in this business.

I realize that you may have caught yourself in a corner with this "debate" but for goodness sakes....stick to whatever opinion you have if you have it. Mind you, if I was in your position I would perhaps start apologizing instead of kissing butt.

as for your advertisements, if you really rather would have your girls represent your agency in a classier way you wouldnt stand for derogatory ads or post them because the girls wanted them....even if they *did* actually want those ads worded that way on CL, it would be up to you to stand up for their dignity and your agency's reputation by rewording them. Your ladies should be your number one concern...I'm not saying that they're not, but an experienced agent should know what kind of client those sort of ads attract

personally I dont think CL is the problem.....everyday there are plenty of girls who can advertise themselves there with class......its the "worlds biggest slut...no restrictions!" posts that end up lumping everyone who advertise there into a certain category at times.

yes an agent works FOR the ladies....but at the same time you have a company with a reputation and if the ladies are the ones wording their ads as such you should guide them in the right direction......thats not being controlling, thats looking out for them and their image.....if, that is, you truly would rather the ads be classier.

I agree with Annessa CL is not the problem yes there are fakes and yes you can get fakes in the newspaper only difference paper has no pics

So there is no difference raunchy ad titles IMHO are used to draw people and I would not want ads like those that some of your ladies use J as they may not be with your Company long. Those ads are still pegged to your Company

I would say this thread has done nothing but put the Indie against agency up front again when it didn't need to be and yes some will call this self promotion

Well if it was self-promotion, it wouldnt be benefitting me much would it? LOL

I like the idea of a classier look on advertisments. But at the moment its what the ladies want and its what is working for them. I'm not going to get into a debate about it with them.

When things change in the market, and I can put classy back into the mainstream I most certainly will do that.

Right now I am about to start on an Advertisement Campaign on EC, and of course that will be kept more upscale. And we can see if that might work better.

And no I don't think this should be about agency.. v.s... Indy.. The market is better to have both. Give clients options and keeps the market strong.

Whether you all agree with me or not, that is your opinion and I respect it. Respect mine too. The mainstream market isnt in the 300+ range, that is a fringe market. And a relatively exclusive market.

If you can command a 300+ range more power to you.
