Actually the Moderator (Moderator-1) on perb is very nice. I spoke with him and the reason you got suspended Brooke is because you put up a personal profile. This is only allowed on perb if you are listed in "Red" - (I beleive that means a paying advertiser).

 

Cerb is paid for by Escorts-Canada.com so here you can post profiles and ads in the announcements FREE as long as you follow the rules. I am 99% sure perb requires you to be a paid advertiser if you wish to promote yourself on the site (This includes the personal profiles).

 

I would suggest you contact the moderator of perb and discuss this with them. I am sure if you removed your personal profile (or) you paid for advertising with them they would gladly let you back on.

 

I think this was just a miss-communication but please keep in mind that we do not bring drama from other boards to cerb ... and we most certainly do not bash any other discussion sites here.

This is very true what the Mod here said. I was asked to take out that I was a Service Provider. I took it off my profile ASAP. I'm not a paid advertiser there so just putting thing's that sound like promotion will cause you grief. There was another instance of a girl that wasn't sure what they ment and kept her website in her profile and got banned over it. Happen's all the time.

Unless you pay there you have to be very cautious about what you say. If you sound like your promoting yourself any shape or form, poof your gone.

Sorry to hear that Brooke, but that month will be over in no time. I'm actually surprised you got so long, usually it's a week or two.

I wonder why it took forever to tell me that. I think it's been the same profile that was there from the beginning. The problem is I don't log on there for more then about twice a month so I did not see their warning(s), and I guess sometime ago I shut off the email function??? I guess that's what the comment about "terrible choices" was referring too? They really take themselves seriously over there haha. Don't they have only one sp advertising from the Wpg section there...sounds like a nice place to be. I will tell them to delete it for sure now, ick! They can be done with me for good.

You can't knock them for this. It costs A LOT of money to run these sites. We are a little spoiled over here as escorts-canada pays the bills for cerb.ca (Thankfully) but most of the discussion sites rely on advertising revenue and to allow one person to advertise free while another person is paying for the same service... it's not fair so they need to enforce this.

 

If you were drawing business from the site it really is only fair to pay for the advertising and show your support. Sites like CL have made people feel that all advertising online should be free, nothing in this world is free. CL makes money off other parts of the site and USES the adult traffic to boost it's traffic numbers. In the world of online business... traffic equals value.

 

cerb sends an average of 4000 visitors to escorts-canada per day. To put this in perspective... anyone advertising with google adwords for instance knows that it will cost them a MINIMUM of 7 cents per click (Average is over 20 cents per click) paying adwords. (I noticed at one time a few Toronto agencies paying over 1.00 per click just to be at the very top of google adwords).

 

Most of us when we do online advertising try to get ads in the 3-5 cent per click range and that is considered really good advertising prices.

 

What this means is 4000 unique visitors per day is worth about 120.00-200.00 dollars (or 43800.00 to 73000.00 per year) and this is how the budget here at cerb is actually made for the year.... and this is pretty much what it costs to run cerb as I am paid for my time, the servers cost lots of money, bandwidth, updates, software licenses, etc...

 

We have about 20 banners running here a month right now (about 1000.00/mth revenue or 12000.00 a year) the revenue from the banners is not nearly enough to run a site like this.

 

The biggest problem is most sites that run escort advertising or discussions about escorts are considered adult (CL is the exception as it's a classified site with the adult section hidden in the back). Most mainstream advertisers would NEVER consider advertising on a site like this so the revenue most come from somewhere or the site would NOT be able to exist.

 

Anyway... if you make money off a site it is not unreasonable for the site to ask you to support them by paying for advertising. I wish more people would purchase banners here and buy ads on escorts-canada as I would hate to have to format cerb the same way as the other sites (where paying for advertising is mandatory). Eventually it may come to that but for now EC is paying the bills thankfully.

Dear B***ke Ba**** The same thing happened to me last year. Since I was not available and could not really travel, I decided not to extend my membership with perb. I could not check my PMs and emails as well for weeks. Later I found out perb sent me a PM asking me to pay a certain amount of money. It's only when I logged in to my emails that I realized what was going on. They asked me to remove all my info in my profile as my location, interest, biography, gender, occupation...etc In the next PM they told me I was banned from Perb because of no payment and they would lift the ban after my future payment. Eventough I did not log in a single time in perb while it was happening. I found it to be exagerated. I also had 2 positive reviews lifted by the mod when I was a newbie in 2007 because I was not in red (paid advertisers) at the time while the clients posted it. From what I heard, all other board are proceeding that way except cerb. Seems like it's all about the money I guess.
