   Name changes are not new or unusual to the industry. Quite often managers/procurers will chose a working name for them. But SP's will rarely use and keep it. Also, with so many similar and rarely trademarked names, many will change it to separate themselves from other in their region. And obviously some will do it to reboot their image or career after bad reviews or to hide a troubled past.

  There was a time when a lady's name belonged to her for many years or until her career ended. No copyrights , no fights or squabbles . I and many ladies have had the same name for years . We have created out own brand so really, why  change it unless someone compromised us in some way.

 

If you run a business of integrity there is no reason to change your name . That of course unless you choose to go in another direction career wise.

    I remember the 90's and early 2K's when few women were able to self-promote and kept their names. And when dealing with agencies, the topic was pretty much a joke as most ladies didn't even knew under what names they were promoted. Always made a good conversation and running gag to know her name and what bs the management/dispatch said about her.

Additional thoughts . Sometimes when a lady changes her name she has a good personal reason.  Perhaps she was outed, harassed or stocked . Also she could feel her name doesn't suit her anymore. I used to think of giving myself a second name but couldn't think of one .

  I agree, there plenty of reasons. Even some weird. Here's one:

     In the late 90's in Quebec City, an SP was working under two names, two phones numbers and offering completely different services. If you called one to talk to the other, she would hang up in your face. An SP gaves me an explanation. Not sure if 100% true, but that was the reason given: Apparently the lady in question was working as an escort for a procurer/manager. But was allowed to work as an indy if she offered domination sessions without sexual services. This allowed her to "double dip" without causing her problems. I never met her. But heard a lot from other ladies and from work colleagues who were also lobbyists.

   Not sure how long this lasted for her, but sure made an interesting story.

I just heard she Angel know, to many name changes sends up to many red-flags for me, I understand the odd-time but  4 times in 3 months, your diffidently hiding something.
