I am someone who suffers with headaches. I get them when it is going to rain (low air pressure), when my allergies act up, and when I am stressed.

The allergy issues are being worked on with an allergist, so they aren't as bad anymore. Stress is manageable. But the low pressure ones are killing me. So my question is this, besides moving to a place where there is no rain, how does everyone else deal with constant headaches???

Or am I the only one affected by this????

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advanced!

The great lakes create all sorts of humidity and pressure, which can cause all sorts of frustration and discomfort for those with allergies/sensitive skin. Unfortunately I have no suggestions that don't involve moving to the prairies.

Sorry.

But really, the prairies can honestly be pretty great! I can provide arguments if need be :)

Ohh yes, I suffer too with them. I swear by pepermint essential oils! Use at the first sign of headachs, and it will stop it in it's track! You simply place a few drops wher the root of the headach is, and within 5 min, you will feel it going away. But the key is to do it right away for the effect to work best. Sometimes I am stubborn and will wait, always regreting that decision. Also , for your health ans safty be sure you bring this up to your Doc, if you feel it is too often, could indicate something is wrong. I had my Doc give me a CAT scan, all is good tho, lol. Good luck hun from one migrain sufferer to another:)

Shortcake I truly sympathise with your situation. My SO is a severe migrain sufferrer to the point where she is often hospitilised for pain control. We have tried everything from homeopaths to accupunture and al aspects of modern medicine. Presently she is with a pain management specialist but the side affects of the drugs leave alot to be desired. Your diet will play a big part for there are foods that will trigger migrains. I wish you all the best for severe migrains can be realy debilitating and crimp ones lifestyle.

I use extra strength advil liquid gel, but store brand works just as well. The same ingredients are in muscle and back pain relief, but more so if that does work I use those but store brand as it is cheaper and works just as well. I prefer rexall over life but both do the job.

thanks hunny, been there tried that, I would rather feed them to the toilet then waste my money again. They did absolutely nothing for mine. I realize every ones bodies are different and will react differently to meds. I used to get hospitalized every month like clock work when I had my monthly's but now that they have stopped, I only have the annoying headaches left. Sometimes (very rare) they will last for days.

I have tried all the over the counter meds (they don't touch them). I have tried most of the prescription ones (some work for a while but then quit). The side effects ARE way worse then the headaches even though there are some days I am not sure about even that!

Thank you all for you feed back! If anyone else has ideas, I am still willing to hear them! Maybe just maybe one of you will find something I have not tried and cure me of this! Thanks!

I used to have migraine headaches that were terrible. If I could take meds as soon as I had any symptoms, and then sleep for about 4 hours, I would be reasonably okay. If not... I swear I could hear a fly stamping its enormous hooves on the ceiling.

The headaches stopped when I became pregnant with my oldest child and they haven't returned. Some people find they calm down after menopause.

Have you looked into dietary issues? A friend of mine found that she had to cut coffee, red wine, chocolate and tomatoes from her diet. It worked for her. YMMV!

I used to get them something terrible, now, not so often and not so terrible.

First, I'm a coffaholic...and yes, if I don't get my fix, I get a headache from caffeine withdrawl...thats why I need at least 2-3 cups to kick start me in the morning.

But I also got headaches from other factors...the cure, I stumbled upon by accident but makes sense. First avoid cold. Just think of eating ice cream too fast, you get a headache...heat works (at least for me) When I get a headache now, I have a hot bath, water as hot as bearable. I climb into the tub, get most of my head under water (not nose or mouth lol) and have a relaxed bath...the heat usually eliminates the headache

I get migraines a lot, and my doctor prescribed a medication called Axert. It works like a charm, and stops a headache dead in its tracks. I swear by it!

Yes I agree about the flies! Completely! I hear a pin drop when I have one! My cousin is dietitian and she is monitoring my food, and when I had my historectamy, I lost the ones that came with my monthly's. It seems the only ones I have left are when it rains. It starts about 4 hrs before when the air pressure lowers and escalates from there. I don't drink coffee, (never have). Stopped drinking pop, don't drink alcohol, chocolate (well that is a hard one) haha. Tomatoes about once a year fresh out of the garden. I know it is not my diet, and now I am at a lose as to why the air pressure affects me sooooo badly.

I use a heating pad and it eases it, but does not get rid of it!
